I feel like with a 30 ACT score and having only taken 7 AP classes I donât have much of a shot at getting in, but I suppose nobody really knows what they value the most in applications.
@Aztreas most of the students getting into Duke do not get any kind of scholarship info. at least most of my friends who went to Duke in the past years didnât get any such info. they entered duke just on need-based scholarship.
Anyone here knows for sure if being a finalist means an acceptance into Duke?

The University Scholars Program email specifically says"⊠you have been selected to join the Class of 2021." That seems definite to me, and I would guess other scholarships should probably also be definite.
So congrats guys! I really wasnât expecting this, I didnât know Duke even had merit scholarships, much less expect to be a finalist for one.

My D got a letter at the end of Feb from Alumni Affairs. It says they are delighted she applied, Duke recognizes the value of family ties, etc. Just general stuff about supporting applicants who are children of alumni. Did anyone else get this letter? Can it be seen in any way as a positive sign (i.e. a form of likely letter)? Or is it just something Duke sends out to all legacy kids and means nothing? Any feedback appreciated 
My D got the same letter dated Feb. 27. Her grandparents and father are Duke alums. I figured it was a general thing they send to legacy applicants rather than a likely letter.

Guys, can anyone confirm if being a finalist for a merit scholarship means being accepted to Duke? I am a finalist for Karsh Intl. Scholarship, but the email doesnât say anything about admission. Why are Duke admission people making things so complicatedâŠ
why donât you send them an email? theyâre the ones suitable to answer that
@identification, how many times are you going to ask this question?? You applied and are being considered for a Duke scholarship, use some reasoning skills and chill your buns.

@identification Let me guess that you are a CS/Engineering major probably from India. Ask a Duke AO for a written confirmation since s/he can only confirm in writing. No one else can. Is it NOT this obvious ?
