They accept more than 845 in RD because, unlike ED, all those students who get accepted won’t necessarily enroll. You have to look and see what the yield is at Duke, once you know that you can have a better idea of how many they will accept RD. @ccsouth
Just had my interview yesterday… wow, probably the best interview I’ve had. My interviewer was really really nice and he said that (for him) the interviews weren’t to weed out applicants but to advertise for them and help them get in. We had a really good conversation and really the spotlight was on me and not him. He said he didn’t have set questions so he just allowed me to talk while he sort of asked questions if he needed to. I think his passion to help kids like me from a sorta underrepresented place (Nevada) shows the type of people who go to Duke. Best of luck to everyone else!
Daughter had hers too. Loved it! Anyone know how important the interview is? I know percentage for getting in regular decision is tiny so not really expecting anything but…
Also, for those who still have not been contacted, if you really feel the need to, you can contact the alumni relations office at Duke to make sure an interviewer was assigned to you. They can reach out to them personally if you would like.
@Pastpower Do they actually want you to contact them though? Because I know a lot of schools don’t want students to contact them about alumni interviews. Just curious because I’m debating whether or not I should.
@collegeishard225 To be fair, I contacted Duke and was connect to alumni relations, who then told me that I had an interviewer and to wait until at most the end of January, then call them back if I still hadn’t heard from him/her. She stated that some interviewers tend to line up their interviews right before they’re due and some like to get them over with quickly. So, maybe just wait it out until at least the end of January since they do have until some time in February to do them.
Are “chance me” ridiculous? Doesn’t Duke look for well rounded and are even unpredictable a lot? So to chance yourself does not show your chances getting in. Am i wrong?
Hey guys.
I just wanted to know my chances of getting into Trinity for Econ at Duke RD. It’s my top school and an ultra reach.

Great Interview
If I get in, I will go no matter what.
Any advice would be appreciated. Really nervous about these RD decisions
Only a few more months until we learn our fate! I am really hoping (to the moon and starts probably lol) that I can qualify for a full scholarship and receive notification in early March.
@mjmthesecond You never know. I know it seems impossible, but one of my friends did get rejected OOS from UNC and got into Duke (waitlisted first, then taken off) and now calls herself a Blue Devil!
I got into UNC out of state this week, which im hearing was a 2.3% rate this round! I still feel like i’m gonna get out right rejected to Duke though, they are so unpredictable sometimes.
