My daughter received an email yesterday stating that as long as she maintains her academic standards, she should fully expect a formal offer later this month. They also issued an opportunity for Blue Devil Days programs for admitted students. Did anyone else receive this notice?
Sounds like a likely letter. Congrats to your daughter @ilmdad
Congrats! @ilmdad
@ilmdad Congrats! Care to post the email (without the name, of course)?
The Jewish thing was one of the funniest things I’ve read on here.
@Volunteerism So which school is your 1st choice?. great guy lol
@84stag
Greetings from Duke University,
I am delighted to tell you that the Admissions Committee has reviewed your application, and it is exciting news that as long as you maintain the academic and personal standards reflected in your application, the Admissions Committee fully expects to formally offer you admission to Duke University later this month.
As you think of your college choices, consider the unmatched opportunities Duke will offer you as a student, scholar, and member of an exceptionally vibrant and stimulating community.
I also want to give you an early chance to plan for our Blue Devil Days programs for admitted students. These two-day events showcase the best of Duke, allow you to stay the night with a current undergraduate, and give you a chance to meet fellow members of the class of 2022. An invitation to Blue Devil Days will be sent to you soon, but I particularly want to invite and encourage you to attend the Blue Devil Days program on April 19-20 as this session will include a special welcome reception and hosting available to you.
I want to add my personal congratulations for the accomplishments that have made you such an outstanding candidate for admission to Duke. Well done!
My final selection will be driven by the final financial award received (still pending).
Any word on LSRW?
not yet… But I don’t even think I’m going to get one @qwmn56
When do LSRW invites normally historically come out? Not expecting anything, just wondering?
So I sent an email to the admissions with an update letter (in mid-February), but I didn’t really receive a return email with confirmation that my update was added to my profile or anything like that. I only received an email stating that they would reply to my email if it didn’t fit in one of the questions they listed above. Should I worry? I think decisions may have been made by now but still…
@tt8082 didn’t reply to me either and my guidance counselor said they probably wouldn’t, I wouldn’t worry about it
@ilmdad
This seems so out of the ordinary and very confusing (the email). Duke will not have any other updates on any students grades until after they graduate so for them to say “as long as you maintain the academic standards…” literally means nothing as they will not be doing any other verifying this month. Just curious as to who actually sent this email, I would also think you may want to call admissions to see if this email is real or a hoax.
when do you guys think decisions will come out?
I have a strong feeling its not today. They didn’t even release a class profile yet.
Guessing Duke will release same day as Ivy’s - March 28th.
I also sent an update letter to Duke Mid-February but my regional admissions officer did reply. Is this a good sign, I 'm hoping it means I got in cause Duke is literally my dream school.
@PBern123 The regional officers work in different ways (i.e. some may reply, some don’t.) Either way I don’t think anyone should look much into it whether they get a reply or not, especially since your regional officer isn’t the straw that will break the camel’s back on your acceptance or rejection.
I didn’t know we could update our application for Duke for a while and when I figured out it was already March. It’s too late now. If I get in, I get in. If I don’t, I don’t.
