With the Fall Term grades, they want to see her final fall semester grades. She’ll probably have to speak to her school about how to get those sent ASAP when the semester ends.

So, I’m guessing we will get something in the mail telling us what to do? She has good grades so far so hopefully we will get good news.

Oh, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Good luck to all!

I was rolled into regular decision yesterday. Now all I can do is work on my semester grades and hope. I’m bummed, but still hopeful.

Good luck, everyone.

Erinconomy…if you were rolled into regular decision…you still have a chance to get in. Good luck to you. My daughter’s just changed to “decision decided” …whatever that means. It could be good or bad news. Its a hard place to be right now.

Well, my fears were correct. Daughter’s status changed to Roll to Regular Decision this morning. Hopefully there will not be an avalanche of applications for her major in January. We will see.

The website gave it away, not sure if we will get any mail at the end of the week.

coralbrook - sorry about the deferral, but my friends daughter was rolled last year and is now a happy Chapman freshman!

Thank you for that ray of hope.

Do you know what major she applied to? I am very worried because Dodge College is probably experiencing a major increase in applications this year (she did not apply for the coveted Film Production major).

Do any of you know if a “Fall term grades requested” message is likely to turn into “Rolled to Regular Decision” in the next few days, or are these 2 different things? Do they sometimes make a decision on your application shortly after getting Fall term grades, or do all these kids get notified at the RD date?

My kid did not appy to Dodge, but it seemed like this thread had more info on it about these mysterious website messages.

I don’t really know what that means. It could mean that you will get a ‘conditional acceptance’ based on their receipt and review of mid term grades.

My daughter’s website admission status did not go to ‘Fall term Grades…’ before it turned to Roll to Regular Decision. It went straight to the deferred status.

The same with me. I was told to work on my semester grades when I called.
And Coral - I was also told they are sending out rejection letters, so it could mostly certainly be worse. Your daughter and I still have a chance.

Thanks for your prompt reply, coralbrook and Erinconomy. This is such a cumbersome system of communication to de-code, isn’t it?! I wish that once they’ve made decisions, they would just post them clearly online!!!

Good luck to your daughter, and to you, Erincononmy. I’ve heard that many deferred kids DO get accepted. If your school has Naviance, you can check out the stats there on deferrals.

Jane345, I agree! They make the process very mysterious! My daughter’s status is also showing “fall term grades requested”. I’m assuming that that means she hasn’t been denied which is hopeful. I guess we will be getting something in the mail. If you find anything out more what this means let me know.

Every high school student applying to Chapman University must turn in their fall senior year semester grades for review by admissions. So if they are stating that you need to turn in your fall semester senior grades it just means you still have not done it. Nothing to get excited about! If you are accepted into Chapman U you need to submit your senior year spring semester grades as well. If you end up with a D or F in your spring semester your acceptance can be revoked by admissions; although receiving one D will most likely not lead to revocation.

@sukahjoy, thanks for this info. That makes a lot of sense.

D’s webadvisor said Decision Reached as of 12/7. 12/20 when they go in the mail can’t come soon enough! Is there mail on 12/24, does anyone know? we’re in TX; God knows when it will actually get here!

Excellent question, vv. I just checked the US Post Office website and found this:
Mail delivery for Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 will be the same as any other Saturday.

So we’re not losing any potential delivery dates to the holiday. That’s good news!

Do any of you think the letter will get to CO by the 23rd?! I’m flying to CA that night and would probably die if I had to wait until I got back! :(

There will be delivery on 12/24, but as we all know that is Monday this year, and Christmas is Tuesday. So we are in fact losing one delivery day.

Apologies to all - I posted quickly without checking dates. Between getting ready for the holidays and thinking about college apps, my brain is clearly overtaxed!

No biggie. i just wondered if there was mail Monday the 24th or if we’d be losing 2 days! Glad there’s mail Monday at least. I looked at some of the old threads from last year (the EA decisions didn’t come out until January then) and it took days in California, but up to a week and a half or more in other parts of the country. UGH. What a roller coaster ride this will be!
