EA Chapman Dodge, class of 2017

Still “decision reached” unfortunately. Hoping they will mail our decisions soon! Best of luck to you all.

@sukhajoy

Thank you so much for your response. GREAT information! I guess being rolled from my EA application to Dodge as a PR major was not good news then.

Its a shock to me when my gpa and scores above the averages and my essays were very good. I take it that it’s because of my creative resume. Coming from the east coast there are unfortunately not many “creative” projects to get involved with because we don’t have the resources where I’m from. I didn’t think it’d play a huge role because of my location and because I was applying as a PR major which is in the communication schools at other colleges but I guess it did.

xkaitlynx – There very likely is nothing “wrong” with your stats, essays, etc. It’s just that there are so many qualified students vying for the same small number of slots in Dodge.

I just got my letter!
Accepted to Film Studies Major in Dodge!!
And $20,000 annual chancellor’s scholarship!
I’m so excited, Chapman is one of my favorites!
It came in a big envelope and said congratulations on the front.
2020 SAT
Texas

We got the deferral letter today - San Diego. Postmarked Dec 20th.

Has anyone in norcal gotten anything?

^Norcal here and haven’t gotten anything! I’m really hoping it’ll come today, seeing how people even farther than Cali have received their acceptance already!

and @xkaitlynx17-- I’m kind of in the same boat as you, my scores are higher than average for Chapman but I’m a bit nervous about the Creative Resume (I wasn’t rolled to regular though). If you don’t mind saying, what sorts of things did you put on your creative resume?

@skippymanie where in norcal are you?

D got her acceptance today. The portal never said Decision Mailed, btw. It’s said Decision
Reached since Dec. 7, and we just got the big white envelope in the mail today. (Texas)
Best of luck to those still waiting…maybe on Christmas Eve??

Eschloss, congratulations! Which other schools are you considering?

I’m in San Jose.
Mine was reached since December 7th too! The mailman didn’t come today yet… he better be here with my envelope soon… :O

Turns out the mailman did come, my parents were just hiding it from me so they could buy balloons first…
ACCEPTED! :)))

For those who got deferral letters, had your status changed to roll to regular admission in web advisor or was it decision reached?

My daughter got her acceptance today! She never moved from Decision reached to Decision mailed so don’t despair. She also got $25,000 per year scholarship. She still wants to hear from USC but I heard they don’t offer much money.

@ladidadi113: No decision reached, just roll to.

Letter came in today. We are in LA. WebAdvisor is still showing “decision reached.” Good luck to everyone still waiting!

@LongRangePlan thanks! Most of the other schools I’m looking at are on the east coast. BU, NYU, Northeastern, George Washington, and I also applied to USD and LMU in California but I definitely liked chapman the most is California!!

My son was accepted into screenwriting. The envelope arrived Friday 12/21. We are all very happy and proud, of course, but there was no offer of a merit scholarship. Really, is it always included with the acceptance letter? I went to graduate school there, but I don’t know how it works for undergrad.

Gabby: It’s easy to miss the award letter. We missed our son’s, initially, last year, and noticed it only the second or third time we sat down to go through the folder. So, perhaps it’s worth checking through the packet again. Best of luck.

Film production is a guaranteed wait until January, right? My status hasn’t changed, but since some of you had changes pretty early in December I had to check.
Also, do production majors get a shot at scholarships, or is that money all towards the first few acceptances?
