EA Deadline Changed?

There's a rumor floating around the U Michigan decided to extend its EA deadline due to the storm. I live on the east coast and will definitely be affected by power cuts and so forth. Is this actually true? If so, where's the evidence?

You need a complete application for early action so assuming the teacher, test score and GC piece of it is done, why not just finish your part this weekend? Speaking as a parent there’s not alot of difference between today and Wednesday…just saying.

Well my part of the application is 100% done and has been since 10/23. But the school hasn’t sent my transcripts yet, i live in new jersey and school is cancelled through wednesday. I’m going to be so mad if they don’t send it in time, especially b/c they use naviance…

I’m going through the same thing, I’ll be done with my part of the app tonight or tomorrow morning, but my teachers haven’t sent their letters yet. School is cancelled until at least Wednesday, and our school mails the letters, to make matters worse.

I think all that matters is that you submit your common app ON TIME (11/1/2012).

It doesn’t matter (I believe) if your school/teachers are couple days late sending transcript or rec letters

^^Not necessarily Coolpillow, don’t count your chickens before they hatch as the old saying goes…UofM means all materials, however, they do accept items later that are postmark or time stamped correctly. This came up last year after they sent out the e-mails telling kids they either “made” or “didn’t make” the early action deadline and you can search for the info in last year’s threads. The below is from their website:

Yea michigan is pretty strict about the deadlines. My councilor is a champ and he somehow sent out all the stuff this morning via naviance do they should get it in time.

Seriously though this a legit storm. I’m out of power in New Jersey and its reallllllly bad. Everyone should be pushing their deadlines back

Call them if anything. I really don’t know if they’ll move it.
