Does anybody have any evidence for reasoning on what date the EA decisions will come out on? I know the 23rd is the final day possible but I have heard the 15th and the 16th as possible dates for various reasons. Also, will we receive an email a day before or something telling us to look out for the decision the next day? I would rather have a theory rather than a conjecture or hypothesis here people. I'm anxiously waiting. Thanks!

Also I guess you could chance me:

You will probably get in! I would be surprised if you didnt! As for the date: None of us actually know for sure. The reason we are saying the 15th/16th is that last year they started to come out on the Thursday before the final deadline, (which last year was the 16th) but this year it’s the 15th. So if you take the Thursday as being significant, then it would be this Thursday the 15th, but if you take the date as being significant, then it would be this Friday the 16th. However, a person on this thread called and they said that all decisions will be released on one day this year. Last year it was staggered. So considering the fact that they are expecting a slightly higher number of applicants this year and that they need to have them all ready by one day, I have this horrible feeling that we won’t know until next week monday or tuesday.

Thanks for the encouraging words! Yeah it would be nice to figure out what date so I know for sure and can structure my life around it:P I’m starting to hear Tuesday now so I have no idea. It’ll probably end up being December 23. Let’s be honest. As much as we hate to think about it…

Reasoning for release date for EA applicants? Last year, the decisions began being released on the 16th I believe. That is when I received my email notification. After that it came in waves throughout the day (a lot of my friends heard a few hours after I got mine).

In my opinion, they will probably do something similar to that. I would expect an email sometime this week, if not the beginning of next week. I highly doubt an email ON the 23rd.

But then again, Michigan Admissions does what Michigan Admissions wants… XD

They had a lot of trouble coping with the number of applications last year and still managed to get decisions out well before the 23rd. Now that they’re more prepared for the volume of applications, I’d expect it to be similarly early.

As far as I know, no one’s been accepted yet. I go to a large feeder school in Ann Arbor, and I’m pretty sure kids here would’ve been admitted had that been true.

I’ll check with my mom when she gets back from work (she works in admissions).

I wish. Unfortunately, I can’t. They take confidentiality pretty seriously, especially concerning that. I get the same answer from my mom than you would if you were to call the admissions office.

I don’t see why it’s necessary to keep the date confidential. It just seems like that’s information everybody would benefit from. I mean I assume they have all of the applications finished right? Do they not want to give themselves a deadline? Other schools set a date and it works just fine…

To be honest, I have no idea. All I know is that I haven’t been told of anything yet. Neither has my friend who also has a parent working in admissions. I’ll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything. But I’ll probably know find out when they are released at the same time you do.
