Dude, that really does suck. When are you going to eat?

My schedule's pretty nasty the rest of the week, too, but I'm basking in the glory of a complete day off... which I'm using to work on college apps and debate and clean my room.

Dang that sucks. My semester has been sooo busy too especially with tennis, but now my university classes just ended so I only have high school for two hours a day in the afternoon. So basically half days all the way up until winter break. Yay...but i also have too much time to think about MIT decisions...grr

They still haven't announced a date for decisions...

Hmm.

Yeah I know. I'm soo aggravated. At least I'm at school now though because now I wont just sit at the computer checking...err at least not while im in AP CS. So yea, what you been up to ducktape? I've been pretty much checking every 10 mins. Think the date will come out today?? They might not even have a release date until a day or two before, which would be horrible...

im in my AP world history class right now. i have just finished a test and am now on MIT admission blog, uncommon app blog, CC, gmail, yahoo mail, and bbc at the same time. it's annoying neither MIT nor UChicago updated their blogs.

very annoying chen. This is omarramo12 by the way. I doubt the date is gonna be released today.

so i started a countdown thing on my facebook for MIT decisions at noon on the 15th and it says there's 4 days, 23 hours, 45 minutes left.....

I just got some Chai downstairs and am now starting on my to-do list for today. I've also determined that the stomachache I've had the last week is likely due to stress, and that Freebird is once again my favorite song.

I'm not going to make any predictions either way regarding decisions. As I've said before and I'll say it again, que sera, sera. At this point it's sub 2 weeks, so what's a few days?

eh, well a few days earlier for me would mean a few less applications i have to do lol

haha, Thinking optimistically?

oh oops i didn't mean to sound that cocky lol sorry... i'm just really tired of doing applications right now

in all likelihood, i'll be deferred..

Yeah, same here. I was just giving you a hard time.

And Tong, Libby updated the UnCommon blog- still no word on a date, though people are giving not-so-subtle hints for them to do so.

I just suggested they send the decision on Rubik's cubes. :)

nah i think you'll be accepted :) we'll see though! ^^

uncommon app blog is blocked at my school, so im using google reader to read it. for those whose schools block some forums, google reader is an excellent and legal way to get around. the only bad thing is taht i can't see the comments. i wish for a knight in shiny armor (if i get in).
sorry for the unrelated post. its probably more appropriate on UofC forum. oh well.

Eh, the UofC's forums are sort of dead right now anyways and we're the only ones around.

Waffle (can I call you that? do you have a real name?), I'd love to get in but I'm perfectly at peace with a deferral. Judging by my school's record, even that may be a stretch.

Also, you people need to stop telling me I'm going to get in. You're getting my hopes up.

lol my school hasn't had an acceptance since '04 and 2 people last year got rejected EA last year, including the val.

yeah you can call me waffle although it's kinda silly :P

Try over a decade ago. Even more, considering that was as of when I was a freshman.

We've had plenty of people try (I dated one of them, and though he was borderline genius, after reading his essays I completely understand why he didn't get in), but everyone's been rejected. I think we had one waitlist 3 or 4 years ago.

Yay for crappy midwestern Catholic schools.

the last person who applied (and got into) MIT from my school was in 1998. we had 3 students in 2 years apply and all got in. my interviewer was recalling her fond memories of those interviews. that's a good thing, i hope.

there was a kid from my school who got in four years ago, but he was a legit genious. no joke, he is a legend...straight a's all four years of high school, bc calc as a freshman, this kid was sick. but at a neighboring larger highschool they've had at least one or two kids every few years.

Last person we had apply got accepted in 2000....yea...7 years ago...and no ones applied until this year where we have a record 2 students....but i guess we have a 1.000 Avg =)
