Earlier than December 15th!?!

It is not that Chanukah is a minor festival, but during Chanukah there is no prohibition on work or any religious restrictions…therefore, unless, they are taking days off for fun, no one has to take days off for Chanukah.

Objective789, I AM from one of those major metro areas, and NO ONE takes off for Chanukah for religious reasons. I should have been more clear. I do have some latkes in various flavors to offer up as a peace offering. ;)

Well, it may not be for “religious” reasons but plenty of people of the Jewish faith in NY took Friday and/or Monday off. Actually, someone on one of these threads mentioned that NU was using a new admissions system this year and that they were having difficulty with, and that reminded me that I had heard that before earlier in the process. Maybe that’s what’s been holding them up.

They lost one of my forms and said it had to do with their new system and I didn’t find that out until two weeks ago. If several people also had lost information, that’s a lot of files that were left incomplete that still needed to be reviewed. If this were the case for multiple people and the decisions won’t be able to be delivered until a later date, the admissions office should still send out an email to all of the applicants notifying them of the problem.

Which also makes you wonder if everyone’s information is matched up correctly. I also remember that they either sent confirmation emails to everyone, or sent emails only to those missing certain items, or sent emails only to those with complete files, or didn’t send emails to anyone depending on who you spoke to in admissions. Every college should go to rolling admissions…you apply, you get a decision. Clean and simple.

Yeah and to make matters worse, I had gotten an email saying my file was complete a few weeks before I received the other one stating that didn’t have all of the information necessary for my file. I’m just really tired of all of the stress mostly from not knowing when it will come. I keep refreshing CC to see if anyone has a piece of new information. I think it would be much easier if they just openly said what date the scores would be released… even if it is after 15 Dec.

has anyone gotten any emails from NW yet?

Yes, has anyone?

two min. before fiveeeeeeee, i’m slowly dying…

no not yet sigh

Mental image: a northwestern secretary sitting in front of a computer waiting until 5 exactly to press send, as she laughs…

Got the email. Didn’t get in.

I got in!!

in…!!! oh my frickin god!!!----

I got in ohmygod. Like I’ll be able to do my homework now…

congrats and condolences. to those who didn’t get in, remember admissions is a freaking game. you will move on and find a school who will like you just as much.

rejected. will post stats later. feel like crap right now

:( Tears. Not in.

dude you’ll be fine…don’t let this get to you.

I just wanted it so bad. I can’t believe it.
