@SuperXX - Nice to see a new poster here. Welcome to the club!

I noticed the financial aid thing just this morning too so it’s probably a new development. I have absolutely no idea what it means though. Any theories?

I noticed the financial aid thing just this morning too so it’s probably a new development. I have absolutely no idea what it means though. Any theories?

Thanks for the warm welcome @MaxRide94.
No idea what it might mean but girls I am totally freaking out do you think we will hear back from the admission office next week? I can’t sleep so so stressed out. Any stress-relief tips?

I tried cooking as a way to relieve stress. It didn’t work because, as I’ve recently discovered, cooking is extremely stressful. However, it does take your mind away from you-know-what and the mac & cheese was pretty delicious. For some reason, I don’t think my mom will be as happy with the mess in the kitchen…

Thanks for the tip, but I am such a bad cook. What is your interpretation about the financial aid link? Did other girls see that as well on their account? When do you think the answers will come? Last year it was the 16th of December according to a current student.

@superxx I just checked the past threads for mount Holyoke ed notification date… And it seems that they let ppl know the end of the second week of December. That’s next week for us!!! Ahhh haha i think We’ll know very soon :)

I think going on the experience of a total of three people is probably not a statistically sound idea. But, I have never said I was statistically sound so here goes:

Theory A: MHC wants to make it easier for us to check our financial aid so they put up a link where no one could miss it. This theory only works if EVERYONE has the same link.

Theory B: Financial Aid has already been calculated so the link has turned up. The financial aid office works separately from the rest of the school, so maybe they calculated aid earlier than the admissions office made decisions? But we can’t access it because the decisions haven’t been finalized.

Theory C (and one I personally hope is true): Theory B has been carried out, but only for the accepted applicants. So if you see the link, you’re going to be accepted ED.

Feel free to add your own! I’m personally leaning towards a mix of Theory A and B. What about you guys?

@Itsatip95 I am so excited and I am going crazy one week from now oh my god I can’t wait I hope we all make it.
@MaxRide94 I really like how you put up the A, B and C theories and I really really hope the C is the one.
Please girls let’s see if all of you got the same link for Financial Aid on you ISIS. (If you applied for Financial aid of course) So far we only have MaxRide94, Pipermaru and I (SuperXX) that have it any more girls out there?

I have that tab, but I was emailed a link to the same site even before I got my ISIS log in, which is needed to log in on the financial aid site. Does anyone’s have anything besides which documents have/have not been recieved?

@Hanz11 when did you exactly see that link there? me too I got an email to get access to it way before even receiving my ISIS.

Oh @Hanz11 to answer your question the link to the Financial aid only had the documents you sent them nothing new appears on there.

Hanz11 - On my financial aid site, I only have the home page and another tab for documents. That’s about it. I think the other tabs show up when you’ve been accepted.

I believe its been there for a couple of days but I didn’t bother clicking it because I have already been to the financial aid site.

Okay girls I guess the link does not mean anything all we have to do now is wait is any of you taking IB and why did you guys choose MHC I am literally in love with it. What about you?

I visited MHC for the first time in the summer, but I was in a rush and didn’t get to take a tour and there were no students so I didn’t get a real feel for the campus, although I loved it and thought it was stunning. I went back for the Focus on Athletics program and got to stay overnight and go to classes and I was sold. I absolutly love it there and imagine myself sitting in the library reading or in Kendade working on a project and I get so excited! I might not come out of my room ever if I dont get in :(

I don’t live in the US so unfortunately I never got a chance to visit. I have friends that went and still go there and they loved it. I met with an international outreach officer and assisted to two of her presentations and I just loved it. I literally went through and watched every youtube video and I have been on every corner of their website. The alums and the mission statement speak to me and I don’t see myself in any other school but it. By next Friday I hope we all get some good news. Fingers crossed.

Did anyone else’s guidance councilor try to convince you not to apply ED?

@superxx my visit to MHC won my heart!! Haha and @hanz11 my counselpr didmt teally care. She thought it was awesome for me to do ED lol. what did you ladies right about for common app essay and or supplement essay? Something tO talk about to keep our minds off the notification date!!!

My councilor just kept going on and on about how its risky and how do i know im sure. Im not sure how many times i told him just how amazing MHC is. My common app essay was an elaboration on a view of the world inspired by my physics teacher, and for my supplement i chose the what do you miss most about your childhood prompt.

Girls, my counselors were actually very encouraging about this and many people in my class and in my city applied ED so it’s a good idea don’t worry you made the right choice I guess. For my common app essay I wrote about my life and experience at high school in general and for the supplement I chose the prompt with the "what did you notice first about MHC and what kept you interested.

Hey, I am pretty sure it is B (hoping it is C haha) . I am an independent student, which means I am financially independent from my parents, and I just found out today. I got an email from the financial aid offices saying that my request for independent student status was granted. So I am guessing that means that they have finished with the financial aid piece!
