@macewindl @FabulousWu My app was complete November 1, I heard back Dec 1st exactly a month later.
Will it take longer to get my letter since I live in Ohio? My application was submitted 11/14 but completed in full 11/21.
My son’s application was completed on November 16th and his acceptance letter was dated November 30th - received it in NJ on December 5th. Needless to say, he’s very happy and excited - good luck everyone!
Does anybody know if it’s possible to receive as decision for RD earlier than expected? I know ED was rolling just wanted to know if it ever happened the same with RD.
Yes, I want to know that as well!
@pmleko7222 and @cloudysmom, Wake’s tradition is to mail (USPS; no email or telephone calls) all RD decisions so they arrive around April 1. If you watch Wake’s admissions blog you will get hints when they mail the decisions. Good luck and I hope you get a black envelope.
Are all acceptance letters black?
@happymom66, Yes and I hope your young adult receives a black envelope.
@WFUparent In the ED round do you know if Wake accepts, defers, or rejects applications or do they just accept or defer? I could not find it on their website. Any help is much appreciated!
@FabulousWu, Here is the link you want: http://admissions.wfu.edu/apply/process/ ED 1 will accept, defer or not accepted and ED 2s are accepted, waitlisted or not accepted. Again I hope you become part of the Deacon family.
@WFUparent Thank you! Knew you would know.
@WFUparent Hi, I wonder if you know when is the latest ED notification? Cause I submitted mine ED application on Nov 14, and still haven’t heard back yet. Thank you so much!
@Adara333, ED 1 is rolling so that means there is no set date you will hear from Wake. Classically, you hear around 6 weeks after your application has been submitted (could be sooner; could be later). If my math is correct, you maybe hearing soon. Sorry I could not be more helpful and I hope you receive a black envelope from Wake soon.
@WFUparent thank you so much!
Deferred. File complete 10/26. Letter mailed 12/8. All is well.
@FabulousWu, there is still hope. Deferred is better than not accepted. Further it now opens up all the other great colleges that are begging for your consideration. If Wake is your first choice, I hope the black envelope is coming your way. Please let me know how this crazy process ends for your family. Again hoping nothing but the best for your family.
@WFUparent Thank you so much for your kind words. Our student is handling it very well, it helps that friends are also receiving deferrals and denials as well. These are extremely well qualified students coming from a top private school in our area. Admissions are just very competitive. EA applications are out at other schools so should hear back within the next several days. Wake would definitely be under consideration if he is accepted in March. For now will regroup and enjoy the holidays.
Got an email from DHL which said that WFU admission sent me a package yesterday. And the senders said, it had some material about WFU admission. Go Deacs! So there is still possibility that it might be deferred, rejected or accepted?
Thanks a lot if anyone can give any comment.
@Rayna541, my understanding you are being told you are getting something from Wake’s admissions office. Thus, all 3 possibilities are in play. With that said, I hope you get a black envelope in your DHL package (Wake sends their acceptances in black envelopes).
Window to Wake has “incomplete application” but everything is checked completed except for SAT (optional). Is this a concern?
