Early Decision to BS/MD programs?

Are there any bs/md programs that allow early decision or early action? And if you do apply ED to anyone of these programs, which one has the greatest acceptance rate?

17 out of 324 got into Brown PLME ED which was about the same as RD

Thanks zonis20, anyone else? Do you know any BS/MD programs which accept EA or ED? And which one is the easiest to get into? I know they’re extremely competitive, but out of all of them, which one has the highest acceptance rate?

NEOUCOM. But it does not matter how you apply, they allow equal chances.

You could apply to the school EA or ED, but I don’t think they’ll start admitting people into BS/MD until they receive all the applications since they usually admit around 10 students.

neoucom sucks though lol

^I do not know, nobody in my family attended. I wonder how do you know? Have you attended and was not successful at residencies or something like this?

^ I’m not 1asdfghjkl, but one kid at my school tried it and told me that he could not relate to anybody at Kent State University because they were so stupid. He made some friends from Neoucom though (I think they changed their name to Neomed)

haha, are there slightly better programs than Neoucom, but still easier compared to the other programs? Are the Rice/Baylor and Brown BS/MD programs the only ones that accept ED?

Suggestion that everybody at Kent is stupid is a negative reflection on a person who made such suggestion. It implies that person has issues relating to others and tells nothing about Kent. Basing your decision on suggestions like this is not what you want to do. I personally know somebody who got residency at Mayo Clinic (awesome accomplishment!) after NEUOCOM (whatever is current name). I do not know more details except that my D. went there to all 3 interviews and was accepted there, but has chosen to go to a different bs/md because she did not want to be in accelerated program. She is at Med. School now and it is not a point. The point is that we actually went there for 2 days (becuase of 3 interviews at each UG), listened to faculty, met many families and current students. For many NEOUCOM was their top choice. Absolutely nobody sounded stupid. In addition, while it was not very hard to get in for IS because of number of spots, it was nearly impossible to get in OOS.
I am impressed how some form their opinions, because some guy said that everybody is stupid. Amazing! As for mine, I do not have an opinion about NEOUCOM because my D. did not attend. But 4 years ago, you could apply there ED.

Giving one example that does not reflect the entire school population is considered to be a fallacy. That’s like me saying that because one student at Harvard med got into a less competitive residency, Harvard medical school is a bad school overall.

Really? That’s what I’ve been trying to suggest to you for a long time. Basing your opinions solely on your daughter’s experiences is just as legitimate as someone’s friend who said everyone at Kent is stupid.

Ok, maybe I misphrased. It was not as if everybody was stupid, but he did have a lousy time at Kent State. When someone asks you what the formula for water is, it’s difficult to relate to that person. In an environment where you are academically superior to almost all of your classmates, some people tend to feel arrogant in general or unmotivated, since you could get better grades than your classmates without studying or showing up to class.

Well, if it feel that “you are academically superior to almost all of your classmates”, I still say that it is personal problem, not problem with the school. Most truly superior people do not ever feel this way, they enjoy being with people, they always find something interesting in each, they learn from them without being snobby. Most intellectually superior people are actually staying away from sombody who is like your friend, they are not interested in their company.

And where did you get that from?

Hey guys, Lets focus on the topic of the thread: Finding programs that are early decision/early action. It would be nice to distinguish between ED and EA as well. The only program that I know of is Brown’s ED one. Let us know if you find any other ones.

Rice Baylor is not ED. Rice is ED. In fact both Brown and Rice advise applicants not to do ED if they don’t plan on showing up if the medical admission does nt come through.

Baylor interviews take place in April, pretty much after people know all their other admissions.

From what I know, Rice Baylor admission is in no way determined by whether you apply ED. It just means you love Rice and will attend it no matter what. Gives you zero brownie points in the Baylor admission process.

It seems like you or someone you know could not get accepted?
