Easy to attend pro sports games?

I’m not a big college sports fan, but I’m a huge Pats fan and I love the Red Sox. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the pro sports community at BC. I know it’s easy to go to Red Sox games but what about Patriots ones?

What is your definition of “Easy”?

Will you have a car on campus?

After spending Friday nights with your BC friends, then Saturday’s at BC football games, then Saturday night’s with your BC friends, will you have the time Sunday to leave your studies?

Will you have any friends who will want to take the time to go? Especially when many of them will plan to gather around a large screen TV in a dorm somewhere to watch the game?

With no traffic, it only takes about 40 minutes to drive to Gillette Stadium. But on game days, you can expect to add 1-2 hours to the commute each way. Then consider the Sunday PM games that end between 11 and midnight and you’re talking a late return back to campus.

The short answer is “yes”, it is a quick 40 minute drive to to the stadium.

I suspect that’s likely the wrong question to be asking.

@jpm50 I’ve thought about the other questions already, I’m just wondering about the basic “getting there” part. I’m not going to have a car, so I’m curious if public transportation can get you there. I’d probably only go to one or two games (and they would be Sunday mornings) since tickets are pricey, but it would be nice to know if I could make a game one day.

Dear caitlynn09 : Fenway Park via the T for baseball is easily doable. Some student groups will attend a weekend game in April/May, particularly if it is a New York/Boston game. Sunday football at Gilette is a near impossibility.

Honestly, buy the Boston College season student section football tickets (despite their conference record) and the men’s hockey tickets. About $100 each, they are social events that build friendships for a lifetime.
