Econ Transfer Help please

I am considering attending a CC this fall majoring in economics or engineering hoping to transfer to UCSD/LA/B.

I need some help. Thanks for all advice.

If I use too many AP credits, am I at a disadvantage?

Do I need to take English if I have 3’s or higher on both English Ap’s?

Is transferring in one year possible?

Are both impacted at UCLA/B?

How do I get a TAP/TAG?

How do AP credits transfer, like in terms of units?

The title should read econ/engineering.

You shouldn’t be at a disadvantage for taking a lot of AP credits. It will only seem as a disadvantage if you do not take part in a full time schedule of classes each semester, since you may have a substantial amount of college credits.

Yes, you still would need to take English at your cc.

Yes, it is possible if you are able to have done all prereqs and the minimum transferrable of 60 semester/90 quarter units.

UCLA Economics is highly impacted and UC Berkeley as well.

TAP is done by applying for it to be a part of the program depending on the cc and TAG is only for certain colleges. UCSD is a participant of TAG (Transfer Admission Guarentee), while UCLA and UCB are not. TAG for UCSD is completed depending on your major (economics) by finishing the mandatory prereqs and IGETC with a certain overall GPA and certain grades for particular courses.

AP credits transfer as course credit

transferring in one year requires a great deal of planning as well as some luck because you will have very low priority for picking classes your semester.
