@Slorg95 Congrats to your son! If he is already in touch with the music dept, I assume he is applying for the Presidential Scholarship in Music, due Nov 15th. Sounds like he’s a great candidate for it.
@UNCCharlotte2023 I haven’t looked back to see your other stats. If you are stellar in a lot of other areas, that may help you out here… They are going to get your scores anyway so one possibility might be to just ‘get in front of it’ by emailing your Regional Admissions Counselor - stating that you are disappointed in your scores… that they are not representative of your consistent track record throughout high school (always reaching high…) Possibly mention if there was something specific that got in the way (was there a family illness or something at home…) I would not ‘blame’ it on anything but only mention it in passing as part of the lesson learned… that you have learned that, no matter the circumstance, you cannot take your eye off the long term goal, etc etc… In other words, accept that you didn’t meet your own expectation, and share with your counselor what / how you have learned from this so that it can be a learning experience that will make you stronger and better prepared when you begin at Wake next fall. Just grab the bull by the horns and show your strength.
@wakedeac2022 yes, absolutely - I won’t let him pass up that much money - we are finishing the Presidential Scholarship audition recording now and will submit this week
@slorg95 My son is a first year Presidential in Theatre. He is really loving Wake so far… He is also in one of the all-male a cappella groups. Most of his theatre friends also pick a second major (he’s also majoring in Communications…) Best wishes to your son in the application / audition process!
