@Winky1 yeah for all of the natural disasters that happened around that time, but last year and every year before that the ED deadline was Nov 15th instead of Nov 1st (please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m 99% sure this is the case)
@whoknows0422 you are correct, which is why I honestly believe we will be getting our decision by 12/8 at the latest. I mean they moved the ED deadline up 15 days (9 days for natural disasters), so I think we will get it within the next 7 days.
Do athletes find out ahead of time?
Although I think it’s very likely that I’m gonna get deferred, I’m still super anxious to receive ED results. I just can’t focus on preparing for my RD apps
Do your best, @fatcat15, to work on those. Look at the big picture of things. You are taking care of yourself by creating more options if you need them. And if you are deferred, you could still get in at Wash U, but you’d also have more schools to compare to each other. Do a little bit each day, more if you can. Good luck!
was the decision announced via the portal or usps? or both?
As far as I know, the decision will definitely be announced via the portal, although I think WashU also mails out decisions. Can someone else confirm?
@Winky1 thank you for your kind words
@Nivlac57 @zoompython According to what I read on CC, washu will send us a mail announcing that results are out and asking us to check our portal
What time on Thursday or Friday would it likely come out? (eastern time)
I just checked out some older threads. Last year decisions came out at 5:45pm; in 2015, decisions came out at 5:13pm; in 2014 decisions came out at 5:24pm. It’ll likely be after 5pm, but that’s about as precise as it gets. In any case, I’m having trouble waiting any longer.
I’m cracking up that @zoompython has figured out the time of delivery!
This thread is pretty quite for an ED thread compared to a couple others that I follow. I just hope it’s really Dec. 8th. I really wish you all well. I think my D is awesome, and you all seem like the same type of kids/students as she is. Looking forward to knowing 1 way or another.
I heard from other sources that ED results might be pushed back since the ED application deadline was also pushed back?
@edsmart The thing is though, although the ED application deadline was pushed back, it was already pushed forward 15 days. So in the end, the ED deadline was a net total of 9 days ahead from last year (last years deadline was 11/15 and they got their results 12/8). Because of this, I think the latest we will get out decisions is Friday 12/8, but I think we will get it out earlier this week, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday.
I believe that it will be announced next Monday (12/11) at 5pm.
@krishnb , do you have a source or just opinion?
Results should be released this week, most likely Friday around 5:00 CST or the end of the workday in St. Louis. I don’t think Wednesday or Thursday are likely. We can make a friendly wager (a Ted Drewes concrete, some toasted ravioli, and a slice of gooey butter cake) to see who gets the time correct.
Athletes learn at same time, but they also get pre-screened if recruited so they have a pretty good albeit unofficial idea of what the ED decision will be.
@Hamurtle haha lets make that a large Ted Drewes concrete and I’m in. Jokes aside though, the reason I think it will come early is because last year they released decisions in like 21 days (its already been like 30 days), and this year they posted the #WashU22 picture on last Friday so I think they are getting ready to release.
I am having pre-decision anxiety haha. It’s an intense time!
@Winky1, I know one of the professors in WashU business school and spoke to him. He said that most probably on Monday.
