ED class of 2022 discussion

For the Class of 2021, ED decisions came out on 12/9.

And ED deadline this year is 11/1. Good luck to everybody who is applying.

My D had her alumni interview last night. Went very well. Lasted about 35 minutes. She was excited afterwards. Anyone else have one?

Last year the decision was out on the 9th of December, but since the deadline has been moved up 15 days, you think we are going to get our decisions earlier too?

Oh wow, so ED deadline was November 15th last year?

@Winky1 last year’s ED deadline was 11/15. No idea why this year’s is 11/1 but here’s the link from the WashU website.

https://admissions.wustl.edu/apply_site/Pages/Early-Decision.aspx

Thanks @Hamurtle. The website says candidates will be notified by Dec. 15th, not on Dec 15th. So I suppose they could release decisions earlier than the 15th based on that language.

@Winky1 correct-they will release decisions by the 15th, but they always announce early. If last year is an indicator, ED decisions will be made 12/8.

@Hamurtle but because the ED deadline has also been moved up 15 days. I would assume decisions would be out even before 12/8 as they will get it all done earlier, right?

@equinox19 not necessarily. I don’t they would announce decicisions Thanksgiving week or the week after. I would stick to 12/8 give or take a few days.

Maybe they moved the due date up because they need more time to read and to make decisions? Hence, the same release date of December 15th.

@equinox19 , I noticed something today. Even though the ED application deadline is now November 1st, the deadline for ED applicants to get their fafsa and CSS Profile in is still November 15th. Not sure if there is anything significant there as far as releasing decisions. If they release earlier or on December 8th, perhaps it’ll still take a few days before financial aid offers arrive.

Does anyone know if Wash U sends likely letters? Or phone calls asking if there are any questions? Or do you think those who get contacted by faculty should consider that their “likely”?

I don’t think WashU sends likely letters out as far as I know.

And for those who get financial aid, it is indicated on the online portal.

Does Wash U admission wait until December 15 to announce ED decisions or do they release decisions before that? Some schools post a decision date and then release decisions before that

As I mentioned before, ED decisions were released 12/9 last year, so I assume that it will be around the same time this year, so the likely date is 12/8.

I googled Wash U likely letters and I found this old CC thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/washington-university-st-louis/1084425-just-got-a-likely-letter.html#latest

Probably pertains more to RD applicants, and it seems to be extremely rare. And this is a thread from 2011.

Best of luck to everyone who is still submitting applications for ED. Has anyone changed their minds and is no longer EDing?

I just submitted my application on Saturday! Best of luck

@edsmart @Winky1 Did you submit the ED commitment form already? If so, where did you get the form and how did you submit?
