eFAN Blue and Gold Opportunity

So on my eFAN, I got the Scholarship Recognition Award for about 13000, but it also says that "Your Total Grant & Scholarship Eligibility Meets Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan Criteria." Does this mean that I will get my tuition covered, AND get my Scholarship Recognition award to cover housing and other expenses? I'm confused because it says I'm eligible but it doesn't list any amounts and I have a whole bunch of loans to choose too haha.

It means that you got Blue and Gold and that 13k covers Blue and Gold and a bit more (the tuition). It doesn’t mean that you will be getting another 10k or so for tuition.

The most blue and gold will give you is 5000.00. This is in replacement of loans you were offered in the ePAL.

Okay Kurlss, that’s why my blue and gold is covered by Cal Grant A and gives me 10k.

Oh okay, so 13k is what I’m going to get and nothing more? Kinda sucks, but oh well, better than nothing haha. Thanks binks. And kurlss, I’m not sure what you mean because they don’t specifically list any amount except 13k for “Scholarship Recognition Award”

Kurlss is talking specifically about the “blue and gold scholarship” - which is an award ranging from 1-5k.

You’re award is pretty much set in stone. Blue and Gold = Individuals earning less than 70k will have their college tuition fees covered.

Got my second eFan today for some reason. I had Cal Grant A and the Scholarship Recognition Award before but now I have Cal Grant B and MORE of the Scholarship Recogniation Award. Does anyone know why this happened? My loan amount stayed the same so no issues there…
by the way, what are we supposed to DO with the eFan? How do we fill it out if we don’t know exactly how much we will need until we start? Is there a deadline?
Thanks

Next to each thing click accept, decline or undecided. The financial aid guy said that if you are can “accept” the loans any time you want so if you don’t need them you don’t have to take them but if something happens and you end up needing them you can accept them at that time. So if you are unsure on something just put “undecided”. The financial aid guy said that you are supposed to fill out the EFan within 10 days but they are pretty flexible about that because they know people are on vacation etc… I accepted the free money and put undecided on the loans.

Does the blue and gold plan cover housing/meal plans also?

no - only fees (as in tuition), although if your need is great enough more money (scholarships/grants or loans) will be available to cover housing/meals.
