eFAN

Still waiting for my eFAN- kinda worried to hear that it’s very common to lose money from what people originally had in their ePALs.

For those that have their eFANs already, has anyone received more or newer grants compared to their ePALs?

Whatever happened to the scholarships everyone applies for when applying for admission?

Imshynz, FAO will deduct tuition/fees from the total of your grants/scholarships/loans and will deposit the remaining balance into your bank account (if you sign up for Bruin Direct). Or they can mail you the check if you prefer it that way. So yes, you are getting your initial housing deposit back.

It says" Congrats Blue & Gold Recipient" on my eFAN, does it mean more money/grant will be given to me?

@sheep55 finally, thanks so much for clearing it up

I changed my status from “On Campus” to “Commuter.” Does anyone know if my blue & gold grant will be taken away? That’s the only reason I can even afford going to UCLA right now, if I can commute and get that grant.

Pipesnake, I honestly don’t think that your blue&gold grant will be taken away from you since its eligibility depends on your or/and your parents income ($70,000 and under). As a commuter, your total cost of attendance will be lower so you will b taking out less loans, and that will be the only difference. I am sure you don’t mind that.

I have a question about how the Cal Grant works (the disbursement of it at least…)

Once we accept our efan with the Cal Grant, will our bill read something like this…

Total payments due - 3,000 (or whatever the number is)

and then, maximum amount due by credit card - 100$ (or whatever the remainder is)
