So I go to this high school in PA, and yesterday I was really sick in the middle of day and went to the office to call my stepmother, but in my dizziness forgot to let her talk to the administrators and forgot to check out. I received after-school detention for 7 days for this, and it came from an administrator. I've already sent in my college apps and everything and am just wondering if this is going to affect my chances...or are they even going to let the colleges know about this? Because if yes I'd better send off a note or something. I know that ISS/OSS stuff do get reported to colleges but have no idea about detentions. Does anyone know about this? Thanks!

P.S. I am using my friend's account because I don't have one, so I am not kitty99, just for the record =)

Well I sure hope not because I've had many detentions and they're for the most ridiculous things like kneeling in front of my locker and jaywalking.

Sorry for reviving the thread, but I asked my teacher today about where detention goes on, and she said that it goes on record but doesn't get seen by colleges. Does that mean it won't be seen by colleges ever, or just until we get accepted some place? Sorry if I'm stressing too much over this, but I'm scared that colleges would think something badly of me because of this even after they accept me.

Ditto what kitty said, but if you are still nervous, speak to your GC and confirm that there is nothing negative to go on transcipt or report to college.
