Essex! I don’t think I’m advancing much further than this because of income, but I’m hoping they have different standards due to NJ’s cost of living (especially Essex and Bergen counties!) @mweb136
Same for my son! I hope NJ gives us a little something just for making it to states though. He is going to Clemson in SC we can use all the help we can get.
Daughter from NJ advancing to state level…was also wondering how many advance to state level and also whether there are scholarship awards associated with that. After reading posts from years past, it seems that many states are very generous at the state level. Does anyone know how big a role income level plays in the decision?
Does anyone know how many state finalists there are vs. national semi-fianlists from each state? Looking at past years’ winners, each year there are 9 MVS winners from our state and 8 regions. One region is a metro area, so I’m thinking possibly two advance from there. D just made it to state finalist level and uploaded required documents. Just wondering what her chances are for the $4000 award.
My son advanced to the state level. Where does that put him ? Any awards for making it to this level?
Does anyone know the scoring system?
I hope you guys in NC keep us posted and good luck to both of you!
The scoring system is in a post of a previous year’s Elks scholarship post
Thanks for the posts here–otherwise, we would not have thought to check the system for updates in status! DS in WI moved on from district to state. Not sure when that was posted. He did not see an email.
@ambkeegan No $ until you advance from state to nationals. If you advance beyond state, you receive $4000 total ($1000 / year) even if you go no further
Depending on local lodge and what state the student is feom there Re some monetary awards at the lower level
If you Google Elks MVS scoring rubric, you’ll find the scoring systems for several different years. Here’s one.

Has anyone heard anything from TN?
Has anyone heard anything from AL?
@rphmom8 Yes, correct. However those are not decided by or awarded as part of the Elks MVS program. I’ll clarify my earlier post… ‘Advancing beyond State to Nationals is the first phase where a scholarship award is guaranteed for all that advance. There are various lodges and states that may give their own award at other levels.”
Son advanced to states here in NH. Only two boys and two girls get sent to Nationals from here. We only have two districts and I have no way of knowing how to find out how many students advance to states from each district. Does anyone know where to find that information? Going to nationals would be nice, particularly since he didn’t advance for JCK Scholarship
Anyone from NC receive any notification yet? What time are emails typically sent out?
Anyone from CO heard anything?
Nothing in NC yet! @MaybeUNC2022
Has anyone in NC heard yet
