Emory ed1 class of 2020

Yep, what have i started? My discovery is going to crash the server :frowning: lol

I have spoken to admissions, final decisions are being made now, not this morning. It is just a glitch. It means nothing.

@ADJP23 omg that is terrifying. Several times over the past month and a half Iā€™ve had the thought that someone could be reading all about me and basically deciding my future and I just have no idea that itā€™s happening :frowning:

I donā€™t know how to even feel at this point

Donā€™t know if all of you knew this but emory will not be ā€œlive bloggingā€ timorrow like theyā€™ve done in the past. They will post one thing tomorrow morning, however.

Are you guys nervous? Iā€™m pretty stabilized at this time. Iā€™m trying not to go on social media lol

That is so upsetting to hear that they wonā€™t be live blogging. I would have loved to experience it from the end of the applicant.

ughhh I regret not applying to Emory ED1ā€¦ Now Iā€™m stuck in the EDII pool which blows haha

do you guys think it helps that im the only person from my school that did ed1? or do you think the admissions people wont even notice with so many applications

@evhsklu I donā€™t know but I hope they take that into account! Only one person from my school has gone to emory in the last 4 years as far as I know and Iā€™m the only one who did ED this year. So Iā€™m in the same boat as you

Northwestern Ed1 came out today so I wonder if Emory will be early too?!

@ismitah only 1 person has gone from my school in the past 3 years (thats as far as naviance goes) but i also know that my college counselor calls and talks to all of the ED and top choice schools for all of the kids (its a v small private school) so hopefully that went wellā€¦
she said a lot of times she will already have a pretty good idea of the decision after that conversation but she cant tell us which freaks me out

@jbart25 I donā€™t think soā€¦I think theyā€™ll stick with their schedule and itā€™s really less than 24 hours. At this point, I donā€™t mind the wait

@evhsklu I go to a pretty large public school but I know my counselor very well. Heā€™s not too familiar with Emorys policy so weā€™ve learned together. But yeah, I hope everyone here gets in

I am also the only person who applied early decision for my school and only one person has gotten in in the past six years about six applicants and he applied early decision.

Right now on naviance it says 17 people applied to Emory but it doesnā€™t say which ones are ed1 so I have no clue!

my school has taken 4 out of 8 people in the past 4 years. 2 applied ED and only one of them got in and they had a 3.33 gpa and a 2000/1310 sat but theres no way to tell if that was in 2012, 2013, 2014, or 2015, or which campus but it still gives me hope bc my stats are higher lol

@evhsklu : Is your school challenging (as in more than normal) or something? A 3.33 and a 1310? Interestingā€¦Also, did the person who did not gain admissions have higher stats? Maybe the one that got in was hooked, but a 2000 coupled with a 3.33 sounds uncommon (also, Oxford may be more likely unless the student had some other type of talent as main seems GPA centric especially when the SAT is close to or below the 25% for admits)ā€¦I know there are many who are lazy in the classroom but test well, but even then, lazy might be more like 3.5 when coupled with that SAT.

less than 22 hoursā€¦

@bernie12 i know i was really surprised to see it but naviance says the average stats for the early admits, and only one person has been admitted early. there must be some other story going on there with it but it still makes me feel good about myself. probably gives me false hope because while my gpa is a lot higher, its still not great
my school is a private school and the weighting on the gpa is very minimal but its not the most rigorous one in my area
