Emory Goizueta Business School to NYU Stern?

I am going to start my junior year in Goizueta Business School at Emory University next semester. I am excited and really like the academic there. However, I am also considering to transfer to NYU Stern in Fall 2011. I guess one semester experience in Goizueta would give me a good chance getting into Stern. Here are the reasons that I made my decision:

Although Goizueta has an awesome academic environment and amazing professors, NYC provides much more opportunities and interns for business major students. Mainly big 4 and some local companies come to Emory. :(

My home is 5 mins from Manhattan, and I LOVE the city and my family!

I can't apply for the financial aid since I'm still international student. I had scholarship during my first 2 yrs at Emory, but most scholarships in Goizueta aim for American citizens. So the tuition at Goizueta and Stern would be very close if I live in home.

But there are some down sides of the transferring: I love all the classes provided in Goizueta and really confused by the classes in Stern (seems there are some classes I dislike).

Anyways, I still don't know my chance of getting into Stern. I was rejected by Stern for college admission. My SAT is only 1350/1500. My first year college GPA is merely 3.66 because I was taking all the hard classes. But I'm in honor society, highly involved in student activities, plus, I have good relationship with professors and had an intern on Wall Street in the summer.

Do you guys think I should transfer? And how likely I am able to get into Stern?

Thanks!

You’ll be a Junior next semester? To be honest I do not believe you will be able to transfer. I tried looking to see but generally schools do not allow Senior transfers. Meaning an applicant will have to apply for transfer his/her Sophomore year and then start at the new institution his/her Junior year.

In addition to your class standing, Stern requires numerous prerequisites to completed or in completion in order to meet eligibility requirements. It probably be best just to finish out at Emory. If you are still set on NYU there is always Business school.

Take a look at: [Stern Special Program Requirements](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

I would also email or call NYU to see if you would qualify.

Hi, MitchAPalooza.
I am going to be a junior next semester because I have enough credits, but I want to start my junior year in Stern in the fall 2010. And yes, I checked this website. There are options for junior/senior transfer students, and I’ve already fulfilled all the requirements.
