@GFORCE2818
You never know, but let us know what happens.
@SlimJim005
Emory isn’t apart of the admissions scandal, don’t include us in that!
@emorynavy I will. He has 2 other decisions tonight (Davidson and Hamilton.) He has a full ride from a target school (Gettysburg,) so he is happy no matter what happens, but its always nice to get an acceptance and have choices.
just got an email that i got the LAS scholarship!!! i m so excited!!! did anyone alse get it?
@Sneedles : Yield rejections or not, lots of extremely qualified people aren’t getting in because way too many applied. Qualified is also not just based on stats. There are other application components that we on CC can’t see. And to be real, it honestly doesn’t take super high stats to succeed at most of these schools. Since you have to choose a major and all that, it may actually be better for schools to expect some minimum threshold of stats that isn’t insanely high, but signals “high achiever” and then look at ECs and other things that demonstrate a passion or real talent in areas the applicant claims to be interested in.
Seems like a tough admissions year. 35 ACT. 3.85UW. Waitlisted
Son was rejected. Congrats to all that were accepted!
Wow surprised I was waitlisted, especially considering how mediocre my stats are compared to those on this thread… 1410 sat ; 111 weighted gpa
I felt very confident with my essay supplements though, so I don’t doubt that that’s why I wasn’t flat out rejected. Congrats to those who got in!
So many qualified people applied that qualified people will get rejected. Just like many very selective colleges. So at the end of the day, it becomes pretty much a draw of the hat for those that are very qualified.
Accepted to Oxford! I’m so excited, especially after being rejected from my EDI school and from Emory’s main campus EDII
ACT: 32 (33 superscore)
W: 4.63
UW: 3.8
Congrats to everyone accepted! I’m most likely attending Oxford, so if anyone else going wants a new friend please let me know!
haha me too! planning to go to oxford also
D accepted to Emory College and Oxford.
SAT: 1590, NMF
UW: 4.0
EC: All-state band
From average HS with no significant leadership experience and no sport activity.
She did show interest by attending Emory’s local event.
Grateful to be accepted, we thought she won’t get in since many with great stats got either rejected or waitlisted. Congrats to everyone accepted!
I absolutely agree with @bernie12 My D is just an ‘average excellent’ applicant, but so far she got admitted to 7 and waitlisted to 1. They are all very selective colleges. I’ve been trying to analyze what made her stay strong at this moment. My conclusion is ‘passion’. This passion is reflected in grades, ECs and all the recommendations from counselor, teachers and EC mentors. Another thing I can think of is … seriousness and sincerity when approached the schools. I am so sorry to many of you who disagree with me, but this is what I found.
Rejected from Oxford College
Waitlisted from Emory College
SAT 1390
International Mexican

Accepted to Oxford campus
Female MA

So, am I rejected from Emory or what?
You’re rejected at Oxford and waitlisted at Emory @rol453
Oh I get it now, I am rejected from Oxford College but wailisted from Emory College right?
