Great video thanks for sharing! @gladiator55u
Has anyone heard anything?
Nope
Well it says online that they give waitlisted kids who are accepted 3 days to respond so more people will probably hear saturday or later since they told @bluetiger11 that they would be taken off the waitlist on wednesday
I hope so but judging by last year’s waitlist there wasn’t really a trend when it came to the days people were taken off @rnn5043
@rnn5043 I believe @bluetiger11 got his notification on 05/10 (wed) not 05/17.
@bluetiger11 Have you accepted the offer ?
For those on the waitlist - If accepted, are any of you expecting to receive merit aid or is that not a possiblity for waitlisted students?
For everyone who has updated Emory with new information when did you submit it?
@hollywoodmom it definitely is. I talked to an admissions counselor and she said that Emory meets almost full need even for waitlisted students who are accepted and a need for aid does not affect your chances of getting off the waitlist either
a while ago like a few weeks after I was waitlisted @Emoryhopeful2021
@rnn5043 - guess @hollywoodmom’s question was about merit aid.
but why would we even be considered for merit aid if we were waitlisted
@rnn5043 - that is a college-by-college policy decision. Wait-listed does not necessarily mean you are not qualified for merit aid. However, all available funds may have already been spent on previously admitted students. @hollywoodmom - best way to get an answer to your question is to email your AO or finaid rep.
@rnn5043 financial aid and merit aid are two different things. Yes waitlist students that are accepted won’t get merit aid. However if you do you EFC you should have an idea of how much you would get in grants and loans.
@rnn5043 - Emory’s merit aid is mostly based on Emory Scholor prgm, deadline was Nov 1st ? Rest of the financial aid is need based. Doesn’t matter if you are waitlisted, any admitted students will go thru regular financial aid evaluation process.
