A student I know who currently attends told me it was lower than last years.
@rnn5043 Is that basically it for the waitlist?
@Emoryhopeful2021 : How would an attendee know that (they do not release yield numbers to hardly anyone)? Also, it should be “low” only in the sense that they wanted 100+ more students than the previous class! That is why I thought they would (and likely did. Just because they say they are nearly done, does not give you an idea of how much they actually pulled off. They could have pulled off many very quickly. This is very possible when you put about the same amount of students admitted on it) pull more than normal from the wait-list. Could be slightly lower only because they accepted more when they should not have.
I’m just going by what my state’s rep told my guidance counselor. I bet they pull people off in waves and if not enough accept the offer they go to the next tier. It’s probably likely that most of us here will not get off of the waitlist but it may be a possibility.
I just went off what he said he has friends in the admissions office.
@Emoryhopeful2021 Your link is for class of 2019. Here is the one for 2020 (ignore the class of xxxx in url)
That’s strange @rnn5043. My counselor had spoken to my admissions rep on Friday afternoon and apparently he said that the first pull of students for space needs would happen this week and that there would be multiple waves most likely. I’m getting confused, don’t know what to believe!
Guys don’t worry I’m sure by the end of this week we should have heard something
I hope your counselor is right @Mahi631 we’ll see what happens
@Mahi631 / @Emoryhopeful2021 Are you both in state (GA) or OOS ?
@bluetiger11 - Did you receive email on 05/10 from admissions and were taken off waitlist same day ?
OOS I’m from NYC @gladiator55u
@bluetiger11 when did you submit the letter of continued interest and rec to emory?
I’m from out of state
Also I was thinking what if the person who’s regional admissions rep said there wouldn’t be much more movement is from a region where there were a lot of admitted students this year. I’m kind of nervous becuase I’m pretty sure there are a lot of admitted students from my region this year

Thanks @Mahi631 & @Emoryhopeful2021. Except for @bluetiger11 no one seems to have received notifications. Maybe a one off situation. First wave probably starts tmrw (100% guess).
I’m from new jersey but I don’t really think region has much to do with this. When I spoke to admissions counselors at Emory it really seemed as though they’re choosing students off of the waitlist based solely on grades and accomplishments, but I bet thats not entirely true. Anyways lots of New Jersey kids get in/go there every year so I’d think since the yield is higher here they would accept more as well. Not sure though, this is all just a guess.
From what I was told it seemed like they’ve already made most of the decisions. Whether they have released all of them yet I’m not sure- probably not seeing how none of us besides @bluetiger11 was admitted.
I doubt it, if they were going to account for waitlisted applicants it would be as a whole @Mahi631
Besides I doubt they’re done reviewing applicants initially I was told that only a handful of applicants were accepted by my regional rep and that most of the applicants would be notified mid-end of may.
