@Emoryhopeful2021 Can you please ask your friends to inform Emory if they are not interested. Will help everyone involved including admissions. Thank You.
Has anyone who’s been waitlisted contacted the admissions reps or emailed emory admissions directly when it came to new information?
@Emoryhopeful2021 I did in early April. Not sure if it made any difference.
According to Oxford Enrollment Service, “waitlisted applicants will hear back from us (Oxford College) about waitlist activity by June 1.”
Who did you send that updated information to the admissions email or emorys main account? @gladiator55u
send it to your regional rep. you can find who yours is online. I sent mine so many emails about how I was dying to go there but it did nothing. Demonstrated interest clearly means nothing at Emory. @Emoryhopeful2021
@rnn5043 That’s obviously not true. There’s most likely not going to be much movement from the wait list. I’m fairly certain you got into a great and comparable school. (right?)
“No set date, but notifications typically occur through mid-summer. We’ll let all wait-listed students know via email.” -Emory admissions twitter page
Trust me, @VANDEMORY1342 I have spoken to admissions reps in person there and via email and they all basically told me that they don’t track interest, visiting means nothing, and even though I sent them an email which clearly said “if admitted I would attend Emory” they still said it wouldn’t really change anything. My counselor has spoken to my state’s rep who said they have pretty much made their choices about the waitlist and my counselor told me it doesn’t look like they took many at all. I’m also currently going to Rutgers and am in the SAS honors program, which contrary to popular opinion, is an incredible program. It really sucks that I can’t let myself get truly excited about it since I keep holding out for Emory when I most likely will not get in.
There’s only speculation when it comes to this waitlist I would imagine interest is vital when choosing applicants off the waitlist since it would be pointless to remove someone from the waitlist just to have them refuse it. And I doubt pre existing stats play that large a role since the waitlist is usually a space issue. I think interest does play a large role but who knows. I do see your point @rnn5043 it’s difficult for me to get excited for the college I’ve deposited for when I spend the majority of my day stressing out about something that’s out of my control and feeling like this whole application process has yielded nothing but heartache whereas all my other friends are happy with their decisions and are enjoying their stress free senior year. It’s unforunate us waitlisted applicants can’t catch a break.
Interests count but I think the admissions just choose the students they want mostly disregarding interest. They pick the ones that fit their criteria, the ones they want just like on any other admissions season. A friend got off a schools wait list without even sending an email containing Hi…and I believe accepting your place off the wait list and not withdrawing it is enough indication you would come…You wouldn’t accept it if you were probably admitted to Harvard or Columbia.anyway let’s just keep on remaining hopeful
I guess that’s true it’s unfortunate they don’t choose based off interest and criteria I guess we should just stay optimistic
Has anyone heard back?
nope
Is there an opportunity for international students to get off the waitlist?
Nobody knows
But yeah a friend got off in another school
@Emoryhopeful2021 & others, don’t fret too much. Enjoy the long weekend & remember all the men & women in uniform who have sacrificed their lives for us. Many of them didn’t have an opportunity to come back home and attend college.
When did he hear back? @Rhay20
Very true good thing to keep in mind this weekend @gladiator55u
