English proficiency

Actually I was going to send my TOEFL score today but its taking a bit more time than usual and giving me a estimate of Dec16 which is a day late than the deadline for fall 2017.

I was checking if U of Minnesota takes SAT to exempt TOEFL score requirement and saw that they do, here’s a link to that page -
http://www.ielts-mentor.com/writing-sample/writing-task-2/376-ielts-writing-task-2-sample-150-if-you-could-create-a-new-holiday-what-person-or-event-would-it-honor

Now they have written that “Freshman applicants may be exempt from the total score requirement if they have scored 500+ on SAT EBRW”, then I am exempt for TOEFL, but down to those points they have written that, “Additionally, a student may be exempt from writing subscore requirement if they have score 28+ in new SAT writing and Language test”.

I have less than 28 in SAT writing subsection but overall I have more than 500 in new SAT EBRW. So can I use new SAT instead of TOEFL? Although, I was going to use TOEFL as a plus point for me. :frowning:

Send both and let them decide. You won’t lose anything.

Called them again…
Gave grace period for test score

@harshwardhan2554 not surprised they gave the grace period. TOEFL scores are notoriously slow in arriving and they don’t really need it to make a decision on your application, given your EBRW.

Good luck!

Awesome news!
