<p>Do changes that makes our lives easier not necessarily make them better?</p>
<p>Essay:
Technology has evolved over the course of time. Life in general has embedded itself into the mold of technology. Technology has simplied research, health care, transportation and many other activities. With a better technology, comes a better and easier lifestyle.
In medical care, technology is playing a major role. Cancer treatments have become far less time-consuming. In the olden days when surgery was non-existence, different methods were used to counter cancer. These methods include fung shui, aromatherapy, meditation, and various other time consuming methods. Nowadays, a simple surgery requiring less than 4 hours of time is not only less time consuming but also much more effective than months of meditation.
In my homework experiences, technology has saved me dearly. I was procrastinating on a history project along with the rest of my group members. With only one day left before the project was due, we had to produce a flowing presentation. Without email, telephone, internet research and a strong printer, the job would be near impossible. Imagine running to a friends house instead of email or telephone, or searching through towers of books for information, or even drawing a presentable visual aid; these jobs would not only be time-consuming, but could also create a lesser quality project. Because of technology our project was successful.
Technology promises to make our lives easier and it has done just that. Technology is for us to use and control rather than have it control us. As long as we see technology as a source to increase our convenience, it will not pose to rush us. As technology becomes more advance, lives will increase in extra free-time, resulting in an easier and more enjoyable life.</p>
