Essay:
Ever since the first personal computer came to the market in the early 80's, technology has developed rapidly. Our society has become dependent on technology. The invention of the personal computer and not to mention the invention of the internet, has changed the way we function at work, school, in public, and with our families. It is unquestionable that these inventions have made our everyday life tremendously easier, but has it made our lives better?
One may argue that the integration of technology in our daily lives has begun to cause us to distance ourselves from one another. The many hours spent in the presence of a computer has not only had impact on our social and love lives, but also on our physical health. More and more teenagers suffer from obesity as a result of computer addiction.
Looking beyond the negative sides of technology, one may argue that the fact that computers make our lives easier also means better.Without the changes that modern-day technology has brought to our lives, we would not have been able to develop further in terms of medicine, international relations, and education.
The changes brought upon us as a result of the computer revolution is just one example of how change which makes our lives easier may or may not make it better, depending on the extent to which we use it for the better or for the worse.
The 21s century so-called "Post-PC revolution" is yet another change, which is decreasing the use of computers and replacing them with smartphones and tablet computers.
This will certainly make our lives easier, but once again it raises the question of whether this change will make our lives better. In conclusion, any change of any kind comes with two sides. It is merely a question of how you will adapt to this change.
