Imma try and take that in my senior or upper year :D

SAME Determined!

I’m registering for one private lesson and ensemble each term, although for two terms the private lessons are for piano while for the last term it’s for organ. Alllways wanted to learn how to play the organ ever since I saw August Rush haha.

I might try saxophone lessons, though I want to continue with my guitar and piano :)

I am just going to try into get an ensemble so I can play my viola, but I have always wanted to play the saxaphone, so I might take private lessons for that in my lower year.

lol i dont wanna give up either violin or piano >< im really into music haha

is anyone else doing “advanced music practice” in lieu of sports?? i think it meets the PE requirement for the term so i’d have more time…

I could not do that “advance music practice” program. I want to stay in shape, because I play my sports in winter and spring.

ohhh god, the advanced music practice sounds so INTENSE. i’d never be able to do it, because i don’t want to purely focus on music or major in music (although who knows, haha). for my first term at exeter i think i want to do the outdoor challenge. it sounds fun =D

somnus, i’m giving up violin at exeter (but picking up organ, lolwut?) haha. the advanced music practice is only for one term though, right?

outdoor challenge!! omg that sounds like so much fun >< is it like rock climbing/hiking and stuff?

well it doesn’t exactly say on the course catalogue, but im assuming u can do it EVERY term as long as you make it every term (limited to 12 ppl i think??)…i wouldn’t do that lol~WAY TOO INTENSE…and i wanna try out for swimming in the winter too~XD

Hey can someone help me with the PE courses. I’m confused. I’ve never played field hockey before but I would like to try it. So should I sign up JV field hockey? And what happens if I don’t make it? I’m going to be an 11th grader btw.

Do you think it is better to take Physics or Bio prep year?

Physics is good if you’re a math freak.

I’m taking bio prep year. It really makes no difference since I have to take physics next year anyways.

I don’t know about bio or physics at exeter but in my opinion, Biology is so much funner than physics (and I am a math geek).

Physics enables you to do a 2 year Chemistry course in lower year, other words Chemistry AP.

Xflippx: You should try out for JV field hockey, but if you don’t make the team then you can do another fall P.E. course.

im taking physics to do chem AP in upper year@_@

Will someone ask on the PEA Admissions Facebook page what the admission statistics were?

wait, so would you have to fit in beginning bio into senior year?

i’m taking bio because…i like bio |D also the whole fall term in the bahamas sounds sort of awesome.

asdfjkl; APs worry me so much. it seems like the opportunities to take APs at exeter are really limited, especially since it’s only 3 years. blahh, does anyone know how much weight is put on APs if you go to exeter?

same here
on the course catalogue it never specifies which courses are “AP LEVEL” –> i really wanna do AP english (composition & lang) but i dont even know which courses are gonna prepare me for it!! >.<

I read that colleges don’t expect Exeter students to have taken AP tests, because Exeter’s course aren’t officially labeled “AP” though they go over information on the AP tests. Only people planning on applying to international colleges should worry alot about taking AP’s.

I would assume colleges don’t really care if you have 5 or 25 (granted that 25 would be a semi-hook, I suppose). It would make sense to take the core AP’s(Calc, English, APUSH, Science, Language). You can always self-study an “easier” AP like psych, human geo, or enviro science to improve your app if you would like.

if that’s so, urban, then i am SO relieved. :'D

and yes, 2010, 25 would definitely be a hook. LOL but see that’s the problem, exeter doesn’t give you much opportunity to take APs for science and language (or even calculus, since you might take up your math slot with different courses…such as doubling in science in order to be able to take a science AP test. see what i mean? >.<). although you’re right, self studying is an option =D it’d just add so much onto exeter’s already huge courseload
