Hello, My S2 is interested in attending UA and majoring in Geology. His Stats are as follows: 3.98 UW GPA, 4.7 W GPA As of now 30 ACT. Will be taking again in Sept. when not in baseball season and can actually study for it. From Nevada. APUSH 4, AP Eng Lit 4. Plenty of EC’s, volunteer experience and is a URM (not that I think it helps to much). As the discussion title states above, anyone have information or experience with the department and the major in general at UA? Thanks!
As far as scholarships go the admissions scholarships are stat based, assuming the numbers are the same for 2016 admissions your son would currently qualify for a 2/3 OOS tuition scholarship and if gets his ACT up to 32 he will qualify for full OOS tuition. Assuming he already took the writing portion of the ACT he may omit that from future tests. As for Geo at Bama, my D has a natural resources minor and has taken a couple of GEO courses. She enjoyed each class and spoke very highly of the professors.
