If you (or your child) got the Academic Elite Scholarship, what extra-curricular activities were you involved in during high school? Thanks.
To even be considered for Academic Elite, the student FIRST has to be accepted to UFE…which is EXTREMELY competitive…about 800 applicants and usually only about 30-40 chosen. And then from that small group, 8-10 are give the AE award.
I don’t think anyone here on CC has won the AE award.

I don’t go to Alabama but I was accepted as a University Fellow for next year and am considering attending. After meeting with lots of current fellows and other finalists, I can say that there’s no particular extracurriculars that University Fellows participated in in high school. They were all very involved in service and all had significant leadership positions, but other than that there is large variation.
