I can't find any solid information on Berkeley's website about this. I got this info from various old threads:

Berkeley wants to be able to work with a TAP participant for around 2 years while they are at Community College.

There are 19 community colleges in Nor Cal that participate in this program.

There is no application for you to find, the TAP coordinators seek you out instead of you seeking them out so it is not something that your everyday student gets into.

It is a very small program compared to UCLA and they do not accept very many students.

Berkeley's TAP is invitation only.

Please weigh in on this. Is the above true? Please post any legitimate links to definitive information!

I’m not sure if Number 1 is true. I was maybe with them for half a year.

Number 3 is kind of true. TAP coordinators don’t seek you out in my experience. I had to make an appointment with one at my transfer center. It was there that I got the invite into TAP and had to fill out a little form to get in.

I’m a former Berkeley TAP student who got accepted into the school.

Thanks for the reply. After you were accepted, what were the requirements? Is it like UCLA’s tap where you have to do a certain number of honors units?

There were no requirements after I got accepted. There are no honors classes you have to take for Berkeley’s TAP.

Berkeley’s TAP is very different from UCLA’s TAP.

UCLA’s TAP is more about completing a certain number of honors classes and whatnot. Berkeley’s TAP is more about individualized academic counseling and also provides one-on-one advising for the personal statement.

Hey thanks for the info. It is wayyy different than UCLA’s TAP. I’m going to pass this information on to a close friend of mine who needs it.
