currently freaking out. It has been a really tough semester due to my mental health and some family stuff. It looks like I will be receiving 2 failing grades this semester. I got into 4/6 schools I applied to (3 of them were UC’s). These classes will not make me fall under the required 3.0 to transfer. I have never failed classes until now, I am currently freaking out. I committed to UCSB as a communications major. Also, these failing classes are not major requirements. What should I do?
What does your UCSB provisional admission contract state about required grades for your semester classes?
Contact UCSB now and find out what you can do to maintain your admission and explain the reasons for your failing grades. It will up to them to determine how to proceed and please be proactive.
I had this happen to me at ucsd as a freshman. Assuming it’s the same for transfers they’ll probably revoke your admission but you can appeal it. My appeal didn’t work and I had well documented health problems (idt i explained it well enough tho) but you can ask the office specifically what they’re looking for in the appeal and go about it from there. I really hope it works out for you and I know you’re probably freaking out like I was at the time, but just know you are going to go on and live a successful college and professional career no matter what!
