I heard from someone that by the time your register for college its good to have three or four ap tests submitted. Beacuse people generally apply senior year, they don't have the chance to submit their scores of the ap classes theyre taking at the time. Does this mean that your supposed to have three or four ap tests before senior year? How many ap's are good for an ivy?

Most people here (CC) will have around 5. Or at least that's what i've read in many threads.

I'll only have 3, and i plan on applying to ivies if that's worth anything.

Around 5 ap's by senior year? Or by the end of senior year?

By senior year. But i highly doubt that's the average. A lot of schools only offer World Hist AP sophomore year, and then English III/UsHist ap junior. So that's 3. But the kids on CC are crazy!! lol... They go to competetive high schools an dhave taken calculus in 1st grade. Don't stress, 3 aps are good enough.

LOL, I had only 1 (AP USH) by senior year. I don't really think having 3 or 4 APs by senior year matter all that much. The number of APs offered varies for each school. Some people don't even get to take APs until senior year. I just think what matters is that you've taken every opportunity to take higher level courses. If your school does offer 3-4 APs to juniors, take them (that is if you can handle them).

Also, I don't think I ever submitted my AP test score to the schools I applied. I just mentioned it on my application (is that what you meant???).

I only have 3 APs by start of senior year.

I had 3 APs and 3 college classes by the time Senior year started. I'll have 7 APs and 4 college classes by the time high school finishes (in 2 weeks).

i had 4 APs before my senior year (1 sophomore, 3 junior) and another 4 my senior year. But it really depends on your school--some don't let you take many APs and some everyone who is in the top 10 or 20% takes like 4 or 5 a year. It won't hurt you if you have taken a chalenging schedule based on your school

It all depends on your school. The Ivies are looking for you to excel in your school. If you can only take 1 AP, then that's all they expect. If you can take 5 a year and you only take 1 total, they'll wonder.

I have 5 before senior year, which is all I could take (including 2 subjects where I'm a year ahead - most students only have 3) and I'll have 14 or 15 by the end of senior year, but that's more than anyone else from my school.
