Fall 2009 Columbia Transfer WAIT LIST students

Hello everyone,
Felt like there wasn't enough room for the accepted students and those wait listed in the "Fall 2009 Columbia Transfers" , so I decided to make a new thread for us. Even though I know most of us want to be on the other thread... : /
I really want to find out how many other students have been wait listed as well. So, please do post if you are a wait list student and make this your home until final decisions come out~

I’m waitlisted

Count me in!

I know there are more of you out there! Please, don’t be shy. You are among friends! :)

Good luck, guys! I remember the anxiety of the waitlist last year. Fortunately I was rejected this year… =P

Me too 10 char

Sorry about that Dupes : /

Come on, come on. There are many more out there. We have… 4 so far?

By the way, did everyone’s GPA stay high as their first semester GPA?
Because I definitely have a drop coming. Physics final was a mess.
Good bye 4.0… Hello ~3.8 : (

MAJOR Bump people!
Anyone heard anything at all about their wait list status?

Should be around 6/15, I’d imagine. GPA: 3.9 –> 3.75. Cumulative: 3.83

I’m here! Hi guys!

Hey guys,

I was waitlisted. My GPA stayed around the same. Can we do something??? Like send them stuff besides our transcript? And where are you guys headed if Columbia doesn’t have any more room?

hey everyone… just found this… I was waitlisted too. GPA went up… went from 3.61 to 3.92/3.95 (pending one grade, but it’s projected an A, so likely 3.95).

mid-june is basically here so I’m kind of waiting anxiously at this point haha. I’m hoping there are some spots available, otherwise we’d have already been rejected right? *most schools ask for accepted students to make a decision within the first 2 weeks or so I think, so they must know that there are some spots available… idk just thinking… haha. guess we’ll see :)

sorry bout double post. in response to GD if no Columbia, then I’m sticking around at my current school (University of Rochester), and having a kickass time with friends, maybe a capella this year, and hopefully continuing to keep up good grades :). I actually love my current school socially. It’s just extremely limited in what I really want to study (especially by comparison to Columbia).
we’ll see!

Wait listed too. I spent my first year at Emerson College and had a 4.0 first semester, 3.75 second semester, and 3.9 cumulative. If i don’t get off the wait list I’m going to Wesleyan University where I was accepted for transfer.

GD, I’ll probably end up at UChicago if Columbia doesn’t come thru. :)

Grrrr… Guys, I honestly think that there is no more hope for us. Most of the accepted transfer students are going to Columbia. Should have just gotten a “no” the first time around! Things would have been a lot easier for me now.

Does anyone know when we’ll actually hear back?

ive been waitlisted as well, but i have to say, my hopes are not high at this point. I’m a freshman at Cornell University; had a GPA of roughly 3.7 last semester but my grades dropped massively this semester to a 3.0, giving me a cumulative of about 3.3. Sigh, at this point, I doubt whether I should even send my grades in. oh well, i am still perfectly happy at Cornell. i’m well settled there and i love the campus. but its not very liberal arts oriented at all and Columbia has always been a dream. guess there’s no point whining about it now…

have you even known anyone to contest a rejection?

Has anyone heard anything yet? :</p>
