@moonandstars Thank you! Good luck to you as well. I find it’s getting harder as the days get closer to not become a nervous wreck.

I too did not apply to any other schools for a Fall 2011 start. I was in Australia when I decided to give things a try. Along with the school choice, the rolling application deadline seemed to be the best fit for me at this time.

Ah Australia! I was in Melbourne for a couple days last summer. I know, I know…why would I go all the way to Australia from New York for a couple days…lol. Such a beautiful place!

I had an interview a week before I was admitted, and i asked the same questions and did some searching around on this forum.

People have been rejected after an interview, but it seems like more get admitted than not. That being said, the questions are very similar to a job interview. I’d re-read your essays, make sure you know what you want to major in and why, and be prepared to talk about any concerns you think they may have (a bad semester, high school record or prior college record).

Getting slightly discouraged! I had a semi-phone interview last thursday and it didn’t go so well, i talked to a lady named Yvonne and she seemed iffy. She didn’t ask me anything about my academics and told me they would contact me soon with the admissions decision. They had already reviewed my application and still no phone call, so it looks like I might see that columbia blue in my mailbox tomorrow…

Yeyyyy i got innn hehe !! I live overseas and i did not get any calls… In fact i called them last friday and was told my decisions not out yet… However i got fedex on monday … Idk how they managed to send the decision sofast…

I’ve been reading this thread for some time now but I did not have much to say until today…
I just received an email from Yvonne Rojas proposing me an interview at the end of the week…

As you definitely know, I am completely panicked, especially after reading soph00’s comment…

What should I expect? My academics are a mix between a disaster (first year at a university abroad, 5 years ago) and flawless A’s (two last years at CC in the US). I’ve also done some volunteer work (Phi Theta Kappa VP of leadership), took some Honors classes. While doing all this I was (and still am) working as a coordinator of several international exchange programs for a university (which involves looots of com and organization skills and plenty of travels abroad).

Anyway, any advice would be welcome!!

Congrats to all of those who have been admitted! and to those who have been denied, this does not mean in any way that you are not worth it! (and it does not mean you won’t be going there one day neither that you won’t have a successful career!)

I received a voicemail from Vyonne Rojas today saying, “I have some good news I’d like to share with you about your application.” I’m in Hawaii so by the time I called her back she was gone.

I was wondering if anyone else got the same message/call, and if I should be concerned about it being an interview. I’m hoping it’s just an acceptance call.

You get the uni after you get your deposit. I got mine a week or so later. However you’ll have to check the university directory. They don’t ever actually send it to you (I guess they might at orientation or something?).

Storybook has the downlow for admitted folks.

Oh that’s odd. Maybe they changed things. Last year the uni came in the package and you had to go online to activate it by verifying your records/student profile.

I’m visiting my brother in Hawaii and waiting for the decision.
Could you e-mail me or text me to exchange information (I will most likely absorb your information)?

My number is (from backwards) 4956-376-615 if you’re interested!

@mlleJack - I haven’t had an interview but I’ve been spying around these boards for long enough to have some advice for you. As far as I’ve seen everyone says it’s like a job interview and usually they’re just trying to clear up any questions left over from your essay. Go in there and be confident. You have a great background there. You’ve got this.

@Fox 21 - I’ve got my fingers crossed for you! Keep us all updated if you can!

To everyone else still waiting… I’m there with you. Traditionally it seems like a lot of acceptance activity happens on Wednesdays. We’re getting close to the two week mark. Let’s hope we all hear something soon.

@februarystars
Thank you so much for your comment, it gives me more confidence.
I’ve been through many interviews over the years, all were different in styles :-p

anyway, I’m preparing it the best I can and we’ll see :-)
