Fall 2013 Early Action

I was born in West-Africa and I graduated from high school there before moving to the U.S.

Hismatix which schools have accepted you already? if you dont mind

gotcha… don’t mean to dig though

My pleasure to elaborate

Koko2013,

I’ve been accepted to both Georgetown and UPenn. Columbia is at the top on my choices though, so we’ll see what happens. I’m so anxious to hear something back from them just like everyone else here :)

Georgetown has beautiful campus

Hey Hismatix, I have also applied for Georgetown. Did u applied for fall 2013 too? They told me that I will heard from them by May 1. I also want to go to Columbia so bad. If you can get accepted into Upenn, I think u will be accepted into Columbia too. Are u transfert student? Military? what do u think helps u get into those schools?

@Hismatix Nice! Columbia is my first choice too but I’m kind of curious what the financial aid is going to look like, it may be a deal breaker for me.

Where is everyone else applying to and what is everyone’s majors?

I am going to major in math with premed concentration.

I am applying to GS, Brown, NYU, Hunter, Baruch, Rutgers and going to double major in biology and anthropology.

i only applied gs

i’m guessing next week should be ever devastating or exhilarating!

fy2140,

I agree. I honestly thought I’d be good at this waiting game, but don’t think I am. Some smoke signals from GS at the very least would be nice, haha.

koko2013,

Yes, I’m a US Marine veteran. A GPA of 3.2 in high school, and same in college. The only university I attended was an online university, and only for 21 credits. If I’m not mistaken, GS would consider my transcripts for application purposes, but not for credit transferability as they’re from an online school. Which is completely fine with me - UPenn and Georgetown did the same thing. Although I don’t think there’s specific stats they looked for on me, as you can see my GPA is not that great and I can assure you my SAT scores weren’t either. I believe they take a very holistic approach to all applicants which really benefits me, and hopefully GS does the same. Given by the lengthy personal statement GS asks for, I’m sure they really want to get to know you. Only time will tell for now.

Yeah the anticipation is starting to get to me too! Although I doubt I will hear anything until mid April, at the earliest, since my application has yet to go to review. Have most of you guys gotten the email that your application is being reviewed yet?

I applied to Cornell and CMU and I’m a CS major here.

Anyone else getting a bad case of the transferitis? lol Trying to keep my head in the game and finish the semester out strong but its been hard.

Not me, still waiting for that email. My application could be being reviewed right now had I not decided to send a copy of my PTK certificate. I feel like it was completely unnecessary, and now that they told me that because they just received mail from me my file is considered incomplete, I totally regret mailing it. :frowning: I thought it was amusing though that the lady on the phone was able to recall my file just by hearing my name. I wonder if it’s a good sign or just coincidence. :S

finally you guys start to fret, i’ve been like this for 2 weeks

a brand new week to come, this game starts to get boring.

Hismatix,
Thank for sharing your stats. I am also U.S. Air Force active duty. Hopefully, I get accepted in Georgetown or GS.

anyone else staring at their phones in hope of a phone call? lol
