@sheofthesea I got my packet but never got an email

@notmichellekim That’s what I was originally thinking but there are people on this forum from Texas who have already received their packets so I’m not so sure anymore. Maybe it has something to do with when your application was submitted? Like, early applicants are finding out earlier?

@Sheofthesea - You could be right about application date… I’m the one from Texas… But I had my entire application turned in on September 24… It’s been a long wait! I hope everyone else hears soon!

Is FMM full yet? I applied with a 3.5 GPA and my application is still under review.

Ok, this wait is unbearable. I know some mentioned last year being able to see a student tab before they got their letter…does anyone see that? I know I see a box titled personal announcements, did everyone get that or am I on to something?

@TransferAppFIT I doubt it, it’s only the middle of the month, there are still two weeks left.

SN: a great BIG CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that has been accepted thus far!! How did you all react when you got your letters?

Everyone else, keep those fingers crossed.

@thercbary Thank you! and someone said we had to pay the tuition deposit first in order to see the student tab :(

Has anyone applied for General Illustration, by chance? If so, have you been accepted?

Hi everyone, I am applying as a transfer student to the photography program and wanted to ask your advice on a few things (I’m freaking out a bit). I have already applied last year and got wait listed (i was taking classes at a local school and got average grades with only three class (non art classes), working/interning, etc…) also, I just recently talked to someone about my portfolio from last year and apparently I received the highest possible score on the in person review so that shouldn’t be a problem this time around because it is much better. Over the fall and spring I have been attending a matriculated BFA photography program at MECA and am taking very similar classes to those at FIT and recieved a 3.5 GPA and dramatically improved my portfolio even though apparently I didnt need to, along with my grades and my essay.

I haven’t heard anything from them yet and wanted to know my chances of getting in as a transfer.

Thanks and congrats and good luck to everyone!

Also, on my portal it said my online portfolio was reviewed on Feb 25th, does it say that anyones academic history/essay has been reviewed yet for those who have gotten in?

Has anyone in Illinois got the acceptance letter yet? :(

@hueman - There’s nothing on the portal that has changed from before… Just says the received dates of the items.

Did you guys receive financial aid information with your EFC in your admission packets?

Did any international student get the accept letter or email so far? I m so freaking out…

@hueman i applied and was accepted as a transfer… im doing fmm but ive heard that portfolio is probably the most important factor in the decision for art and design students. not that the essay isnt important, but they probably look less at your grades than they would a business major. it sounds like you have a kickass portfolio and a good gpa, so you probably have a good shot.

i think transfers are attractive to the school because we tend to be more mature and focused than freshmen who only want to party haha

GUYS. thanks to a lovely individual in the facebook group, there’s (sort of) a way to figure out if you got in or not!
it only works if you filed a fafsa. basically, you gotta go to myfit: Check My FIT Financial Aid Award Information
“View my awards, accept or modify my award amounts. This information is
not available until you have been admitted into the college and aid has
been awarded.”
so basically, if you got an award, you got in.
… I didn’t get a reward… this could be that I finished half of the fafsa app like yesterday… but i’m pretty sure that this means that i didn’t get in.

@phoebebuffay I sure hope so because this transfer is still waiting for a decision lol
@notmichellekim Thank you ! and do you think your app could still be under review?

@notmichellekim I don’t see an option that says view awards, etc. I did go through all the tabs and it says information is not currently available contact the financial office or something along those lines, but nothing about “admitted students”

Hi everyone! I just got my acceptance letter today!! I applied for their communication design program! It’s been such a long wait! Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear!

Congrats @mg1222! for research purposes, would you mind sharing what state you’re in?
