@todayisnow hopefully you will have great news! All letters are mailed by the 1st if April so you still have time to hear back.

@streisafield you can call to find out

@thercbray oh… i’m sorry… but how do you know you were rejected? are you still able to log into your myfit and FIT gmail account ?

@Lesmag congrats !

@thercbray thank you. I’m sorry to hear about your rejection. Are you a 1st time college student or transfer? What did you select as a major and gpa if you don’t mind me asking?

@limjuliana i can still log into both and i called and spoke to someone that i’m presuming is the head of admissions because he was the same person at the open house and also the same one that “encouraged” me to apply. i’m not bitter, i’m not bitter, i’m not bitter lol.

@todayisnow no, i’m technically a transfer student…long story, if you go back a few pages you can see i kinda mentioned it in my essay. I applied for FMM and my gpa was a 2.7, but that was 8 years ago before I joined the military. I was told that the length of time since I was in school would definitely be taken into consideration, but i don’t want to discourage ANYONE!

FIT is backwards this year, people (non Freshman Advanced applicants) are getting emails now saying they’ve been accepted and to look out for the packet so if you’re still waiting and you applied before the deadline look out for the email as well.

@TransferAppFIT does that mean you got in??? If so CONGRATS!!!

@streisafied Log onto your FIT gmail using the same login info for your MyFIT. firstname_lastname@fitnyc.edu with the same password. I was denied but found out that people were wait listed. SAT scores probably ruined the app- 3.8 GPA in an intense honors program in high school, strong recs, lots of service hours and E/Cs, I was also confident with my essay, but just missed a 1600 on the SAT. Wondering how many students they accepted this year.

@thercbray No I’m still waiting for a decision lmao :(( but they’re sending emails out about admitted students day and some people who were still waiting got that email so that basically means they were accepted.

@TransferAppFIT well you still have time, fingers crossed it goes well. I’m going to call tomorrow to find out about non-degree classes…

@thercbray Thank you and yes, don’t give up!

@artsyfartsy96 So sorry you were denied! Do you really think the SAT scores ruined it for you? That’s so dumb! Since they aren’t necessary I feel like they should only be used to help an applicant, not used against them. Sorry again :(

@artsyfartsy96 how did the people who got into the honors program find out? I haven’t heard either way. I have a 3.9 unweighted, 10 Ap credits, and a 1920 SAT… But I haven’t heard anything… However… My mom hated my essay, and I dug my heals in and submitted it anyway… I hope my mom wasn’t right

@thecrbray im so sorry! i thought your essay was amazing and the time that you spent in the military after school shouldnt be held against you (if anything, it shouldve helped your chances). its sad that theyve rejected someone who has shown dedication in their life and is clearly mature enough and ready to handle everything that comes with moving to a new city, school, etc.

@artsyfartsy I applied in November, but my GPA unweighted was a 2.9 & weighted was a 3.0, so I was right at the bottom of where they accept people, so that’s probably why I’m still on the rocks. I just sent my transcript from last semester when I got a 4.0 so hopefully that’ll boost my chances.

@artsyfartsy wait were you accepted or denied?

@artsyfartsy96 Omg you were talking about being denied from the honors program, not the school in general… im so dumb sorry hahah

No I’m in the school thank God I was denied from the honors program.

I live in NJ and nothing came today (again)
