Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@Korsgaard ask your professors for rec letters, there is no deadline for that as long as you get them before they make the admission decisions.

@txgirl9457 I was thinking about that. hope its not too late

@Rice I’ll consider it.

Now that I think about it, I’m pretty nervous. Does any1 know how the appeal process works?

@Korsgaard i think you have to write them a letter explaining your situation. You can add more thing such as rec letters you want the admissions to consider. Don’t worry, you got about a month and a half to find that out. I’d say go and meet an admissions counselor and ask what to do. That’s definitely what I am planning to do.

Does any1 know any CCers that have appealed? It seems like a long shot.

So relieved right now. The admissions counselor e-mailed me back this morning. It turns out UT made a mistake when they uploaded my info into their system. My status says complete. #:-S

I called the office of admissions around 8:30 today. If you made a mistake in things like miscounting your credits or wrong dates of attendance on the apply texas application, then you do not need to worry about it. Application will give them an idea of your schoolwork, transcript will be definitive. My status says complete as well

Good luck guys and let the waiting game begin :)>-

Hello can anyone rate me? Im in the process of completing 30 semester hours at Baylor. After this semester I will have a 3.53 gpa. I am applying to cola first choice and ugs second choice. Have pretty solid essays and a lot of community service as well as a job, club activities, and sport teams. What do ya’ll think of my chances of getting into to one of those schools?

So those transfer numbers kind of freaked me out… I have a 3.7 right now hoping to get at least another 3.7 this semester. I’m applying to COLA and even though the average is 3.5 I feel less confident now. :frowning:

Do y’all think that not having 30 hours till the end of this semester will hurt my chances of getting in??

Admissions counselors are a joke here, just saying. I went to one with my grades and they could only tell me a “3.6” is the competitive GPA average for all the colleges… But they won’t tell you for your specific college.

Saborak it shouldn’t! You just won’t get an admissions decisions until they receive your transcript that says you completed 30 credits

:-<

Trinity University (San Antonio)
2.8
Moody College of Communication
Journalism
Many extracurriculars from high school. As well as substantial community service hours. (I have a 6 page resume)
No letters of recommendation

@DeeGeeErbear Do you know any EXTERNAL TRANSFERS (NOT CAP STUDENTS) at UT that got in with say 3.4- 3.7 GPA s?

haha the admissions office in San Antonio is the same. I called asking what the average GPA was for the different colleges and they told me “We can not give you that information”… >_>

Thanks @lovechickfila

@rice00princess, there were some 3.4’s that got in for Spring 2014. If you want other stats you can go through older threads. I went through the spring one today just t check out the lowest accepted GPA. :)

I see a lot of people nervous. Most of you guys really shouldn’t be nervous. If you go back and look at the stats of of the CCers, most of them with a 3.5 get in. When I mean most, i mean around 95% if you really look around. We can do this
