So going through the threads I have seen the term “bump” a lot… what does it mean?

@Saborak People comment “bump” because it brings old threads to the top of new threads. They do this if no one has commented on their thread, hoping that it brings it to the top of the new list, so more people can see it and comment.

@rangers32 ohhhhh okay!! Thanks :)

To answer a prior question, freshman are granted acceptance before transfers, and they also register before y’all as well. (Which makes the reg process a nightmare!!)

Anyone else here accepted to the Butler School of Music? I’m just waiting on the university admission now…:/

Wait you already got in? CONGRATS!

@saborak Missed that, thank you so much!

@Kumagron23 No problem!!

I’m probably going to end up dropping my biology class which will put me under the 30 hours needed Good luck to everyone!!

I think you can still apply if you have around 27 hours.

I will get rejected for not having my 30 hours.

Why are you going to drop? :(

I have a 71 currently because I failed my first lecture exam and my first lab exam. I don’t think I will be able to bring it up 9 points. I’m going to talk to my CC tomorrow to see if they can take me out of Biology and maybe add me into a Flex II course. If not then I feel like taking the loss now and trying again next semester is whats best. I don’t want a C or D on my transcript

If I get a C in the class I’d have to get an A in my math class and my GPA would be a 3.6… do you think that would be okay for UT or do y’all think they will look at the C and say no because of it??

There was a guy on this forum who has a C and 3.5 GPA that got accepted to UGS, So I think as long as you can keep it around 3.5 you would stand a chance.

Has anyone received the Terry Scholarship email? Does everyone receive it?

Does anyone know of a solid date we’ll get a reply during? Or if how well our application looks affects when we get a reply? I’m really tired of waiting and want a date to look forward to.

@foafoa thats reassuring. Thank y’all for the support <3 That’s why I love these threads. They’re always so nice to connect with people that are going through the same thing.

Nobody knows for sure an exact date, thats for admissions to decide.

Well, I’m applying with a 3.51 GPA and 31 hours. Actually after the fall I have 28 hours and a 3.4 something but what help is that I took an easy online course over the winter to boost my GPA (and my hours too). However, I also have one W in a government class I took during high school dual credit. I would like to tell myself that a single W won’t hurt but I am about to drop a history class this semester due to the ridiculously amount of works and my professor make everything so hard, now if I get in that won’t matter anymore.

If you ever need help with history I can help, my brother is was a history and law major and every dinner we would have would revolve around the two… If you don’t mind me asking, what major are you applying for? Do W’s hurt? I mean I know they don’t look great, but why would UT frown upon them? I feel like they should understand that things happen and that sometimes people have no choice but to drop…

@Saborak: I was the best student in my history class back in high school but this professor I have is just hard. I made like 95 on his midterm last semester (with a curve), 85 on the final (no curve this time), 86 on the paper (a 10 pages paper), I also did good on the quizzes and still ended up with a B. His tests focus on many details in the book and it is truly the biggest mistake of my life to take him for my second history class. That was the most stressful class I ever have, even more than math, my face is full of pimples from the all-nighters I pull just for that damn history class. Just recently I found out on a professor statistic website that he gives like 12% A and 23% F. I’m taking 5 classes at the moment and doing pretty well with all other, my life would be so much more relaxed without him.

Btw, I’m applying for Radio-Film-Television but I know there’s no way I would get in so I’m hoping for my second choice wich is COLA undeclared. I think a single W won’t hurt but two Ws will be a danger sign and they may just throw your application away with 3 Ws, at least that what I got from the internet.
