Should COLA applicants start expecting decisions by the end of this week/beginning of next week?

@dgcheme is that for chem E ,if so can you explain please

@uttx1994 Yes I applied for Chemical Engineering. I called because I was having some trouble opening my status page, but I didn’t really ask when I would hear back from them. The woman voluntarily informed me that I would have my decision around the middle of May. I’m sure she saw that I applied for ChemE, but we didn’t really discuss it. The call was very short.

Just got off the phone with admissions. I applied for COE and I’m a summer applicant. I was told that since COE is super small, they spend a lot of time picking the best candidates so it may take awhile. :(

@dgcheme Why is that? I was told they should be out within the next two weeks. What college did you apply for? Are you summer or fall?

Hang in there guys! high GPA(3.7+) & Calc 1 completed candidates with 30+ hours should be hearing back this month & the rest of you with 30+ hours should hear back early june most likey

@dgcheme I also talked to a woman from admissions who told me that they would be releasing decisions mid-to-late May; however, I called again after reading posts on this thread saying that the trend is that decisions were being sent out mid-late April last year. When I called the second time, I talked to a man who told me that decisions should be coming out in the next couple of weeks - provided you applied with 30 hours already completed. They send acceptances first to the most qualified students with 30+ hours completed, and two applicants from this thread have already been accepted into ChemE, so hopefully you do not have that much more waiting to do!

Not sure if this has been touched on, but for Summer applicants I don’t see how we wont know our decision within this week or at the latest next. There still has to be time for orientation, getting living figured out, etc.

@carissadean Hopefully they will be out within the next two weeks! I applied for Cockrell, Fall 2014.

@want2engr Ah okay that’s good to know!

@dgcheme Oh, I see. Maybe she meant that only for the COE applicants. The general consensus seems to be that their decisions take longer as it is more competitive. I am applying to COLA and the lady I spoke with was looking at my application and transcripts (regarding an issue I called about) when she told me “within the next two weeks”. Not sure this applies to everyone!

So i just got accepted to COLA- English.

3.59 GPA

Congratulations!! I’m still in review for engineering, hopefully we hear this week

CONGRATS @kumagron23 Did you find out after 5 pm? Just wondering so I don’t keep checking tonight without good reason to.

@beebee23 yeah i literally just found out right now, 5:35 central

@kumagron23 congrats.\m/
What are your stats aside from GPA?

So I called admissions twice today and I got two different answers. I asked when should fall 2014 transfer applicants find out their decision? One person told me mid may and the other told me I should know by next week most likely!! Guess I just have to sit here and play the waiting game!

@rice00princess what kind of stats are you talking about?

Ugh. I have a 3.79 COLA and no decision yet…

Just found out I got in. 3.59 gpa. Cns. Good luck.

@kumagron23 classes you took, credit hours, extracurriculars and essay strength, rec letters, major. Fall or Summer applicant?

@PrideFC Congratulations !! What are you stats?
