Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

I listed my stats like 2 pages back.

@PrideFC‌ thanks. I didn’t see that before

Decided to check status site one last time for the day and it updated–I’m accepted into Computer Science, at the College of Natural Science.

Stats:

HS GPA:3.8
College: 3.7
Credits: 126 (was double majoring in Econ/Phil before and had 40 credits off of AP and concurrent enrollment in high school)
SAT: 1480/1600
ACT: 32
SAT 2 Writing: 740, Math 1: 780, Math 2: 760
Been out of college for four and a half years (I dropped out to enlist in the USMC Infantry and serve in Afghan) so I’m super stoked to be accepted after running and gunning for four years.

I am applying to CNS. Could someone help me out please?

I have an overall GPA of 3.67 and 63 hours.
I have not taken calculus. I am in Pre-Cal right now.
I volunteer tutoring and in a hospital.

Congrats to all who have been accepted so far!

Just some tip, if you want to find out the stat of someone that just got in, simply click on their username and you will be directed into their user’s page. From there, look at the left side where it says “Replies” and you will find out the stat somewhere in their previous posts list.

Hi everybody! I was accepted into computer science/CNS today.
For those wondering:

3.938 GPA (48 credits)
13 AP credits
Completed Cal I and II, Physics I and II
Two (I’d say) decent essays
No letters of recommendation
Texas resident

Good luck to everyone waiting and congratulations to everyone who got it!

Congratulations everyone! :):)

Heard back for Bio/CNS as well (3.5 GPA)
Complete stats are on page 2

Edit: oops forgot to actually add I was accepted

lasses you took, credit hours, extracurriculars and essay strength, rec letters, major. Fall or Summer applicant?
@rice00princess 30 credit hours, no extracurriculars besides really, i thought strong essays that all correlated with eachother and my major, 1 rec letter that i though was strong, english, and summer :)

I haven’t heard back from MATHEMATICS/CNS. GPA: 3.7(47 hours).

In state resident.
Just one extracurricular. Oriented incoming freshmen in the summer
Math:Precalc(A), Calc1(B), Calc2(B), Calc3(A), DFQ(A)
Programing fundamentals 1 and 2 As
Rest of stuff got mostly As with a few Bs here and there.
I thought the essays were pretty good, they should be at the very least decent. 1 letter of recommendation from DFQ professor.

Am I going get in lol?

Just found out today I have been accepted to COLA for Psychology. GPA:3.51 Fall 2014

In-State tuition
Extracurricular: Head of Psychology Club, Member of Honors College at Lone Star College, Member of PTK and Psi Beta, and a few other clubs. have all A’s including honors classes for psych. I did all the essays and 3 letters of rec. I worked on those essays for weeks so they had to be pretty good if I got in right?

Congratulations @Paguy8 That’s awesome! Could you possibly tell me what time today you found out? Just trying to get a good idea of when during the day to look. Please and thank you!!

You have a lot of math done and a high GPA, I don’t see why not! Good luck @Aragaki‌

Does anyone know if UT rejects students who don’t have the calc credit? I applied to CNS for Public Health and I’m so worried. :(

@beebee23‌ I found out at 5:30 at night. Also if this helps people it will only appear on your my status page for now I have not received an email or postal mail yet.

@lovechickfila: From UT transfer guide for CNS (http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/acc/current/natsci-2.pdf</a>)
“Admission to the Public Health program requires completion of BIOL 1406+1407, CHEM 1311+1312, and MATH 2413 with grades of at least C−.”

It means that the CNS will probably reject your application if you didn’t have Calculus 1 complete. :frowning: What’s your second choice major? I apply for Television/Film but I really doubt my chance because I have a low GPA (3.51) when I submit my application but still, I have hope for my second choice which is COLA undeclared.

Just got accepted into UGS!
3.5 GPA! 32 hours completed!
Good luck to you all! :)

I am still in review for COLA French. Any chance it rolls out based on last name?

Hey everyone! For the people that they are saying that they called the admissions office, what number did you call?

@CileyMyrus‌ hey what were your credentials???!!!
