FALL 2018 UCI Irvine Official Transfer Thread

@UCIfilm Thank you.
@Twenmi I am so sorry…I had no idea, but I hope the link made you smile

@Piktuto ahhaha it’s okay I had a laugh. The automated response is burned into my brain though

@Twenmi Hopefully on Monday you won’t wait for too long.

Does anyone know if you can change your alternate major? I know for sure you can change the primary one but I don’t see any options about the alternate.

@sarsar101 yes, CS major with 3.5gpa

I requested to change my alternate major last week and they said no. I then requested to change my primary major and they also said no. “You are not permitted to change your major at this time.” I basically think I am going to get rejected because I had all of the pre-reqs completed for what I was trying to change into, but not for what I have requested at the time of the application. UgH

Did they let you change? They wouldn’t let me.

@Kelvin105 That is awesome, congrats! Would you mind posting your stats? I’m still waiting for a decision. Thanks,

-Lisa

@transfer201831 I tried changing my major too but my admissions adviser told me I can’t change it until I attend the mandatory academic advising held by my division in June

Major: Business Admin
Major Pre Req: All but Cal 2(taking summer)
IGETC: Completed
GPA: 3.97
Degree: Business Administration, AST

I am a business admin major as well, and I am taking Cal 1 this semester, and Cal 2 in the summer. So far after the midterm I have an A in Cal 1, so I’m debating whether I should send a mid grade report to admissions if that would help any. Technically, I’m taking Cal 2 this summer(which I stated on my application), but I am under the impression they don’t take summer classes into consideration for admission. I’m hoping for a miracle, and plan on appealing if I get denied and sending them my current grades and proof of cal 2 enrollment for summer. Other than that I have all the major pre-requisites and certified IGETC with a 3.97 GPA. Honestly, If other business admin majors are getting notified already, I’m assuming my chances are very slim at this point :frowning: @jawbzzz

@JulianSprings If you don’t mind me asking, what were your transfer conditions and what major? Thanks,
-Lisa

Hi everyone! Tomorrow’s April which means transfer acceptance (or rejection) letters will start rolling out in a couple weeks! If you guys can chance me, then that’d be awesome! My stats:

In-state applicant
Major: Sociology
UC Transferable GPA: 3.45
Major GPA: 4.27 (4.0 Weighted)
IGETC: Completed
ECs: Lots of ECs and currently employed at hospital full-time, and had leadership positions in the past
Personal Statement/Insight Questions: Strong. I had a really close friend pass away so I have a few W’s and took a gap year to cope, which I included that in my essay. I also have a consistent rise in GPA from when I first started CC.
Already got accepted into UCR. Pending: UCSD, UCLA, UCI, and a couple CSUs.

I know Sociology is impacted and my overall GPA isn’t that great but I’m hoping my personal statement will make up for it. Fingers crossed!

Anyone else get their acceptance letter in the mail?

Will the transfer admission notification be sent out starting tonight?

@ucitransferpls I did! It was so cute!

Whoops, correction. UC transfer GPA: 3.72**

Did anyone get notified today?

does anyone know if they are done notifying regents scholars? like if i’m still pending is there any chance of still getting regents?

Anyone know what happens if your gpa falls UNDER 3.4 for tag AFTER spring?

Do they consider your for regular admission?

or do you get rescinded completely?

@lrecupero I emailed them about taking Calc 2 in the summer, but haven’t heard back. I got mixed answers from other people though saying that some got in and did it over the summer. I think the people that were allowed to do it in the summer had the 60 transferable units by the spring, though I could be wrong. Lmk what happens to your application since we’re on the same boat!!! B-) . I’m still freaking out about Calculus 2 though, god I hate Calc 2 :((
