in MyBama. I just checked & was happy to see that the bill looked less than I expected. I had forgotten about all those little deposits along the way & they added up. Phew!

LOL – i agree completely. I saw the bill Saturday evening and was so excited I had to open a bottle of wine. I wanted to cry and could not get over our good fortune!

Roll Tide!

Here’s a probably obvious question about the payment. It says click to pay/confirm schedule. Does that mean that after they pay they can no longer add/drop classes? What if the fees change? Would they just send an interim bill?

No, they can still drop and add classes are you confirm the schedule. One of my son’s friends added a class last night after she confirmed hers.

*What if the fees change? Would they just send an interim bill? *

Bills aren’t sent to your home, so you’ll just see an adjustment on your statement online. You’ll pay for an interim changes. If you have a credit, you can just let it sit there and it will carry for the next semester.

So…it’s a good idea to check your “online statement” on a semi-regular basis.

so, are you all paying it all at once or in payments.

what was that payment thing talked about here before? or does it mention it on the bill pay page. i haven’t looked yet.

Paid. done. Yay!!! Also by using credit card we should rack up some additional Southwest points :)

*
what was that payment thing talked about here before? *

I’m not sure but on the regular threads, someone mentioned that there’s an interest-free payment plan thru Sallie Mae

i thought it was called bamasomething.

i think you had to pay a fee to do it, but i think the fee was reasonable/

Mike:

This is probably what you were referring to.

What Payment Plan options are available?

The BAMA Plan - BAMA Plan is the University’s optional 10 month installment plan for paying tuition, residence hall charges, Dining Dollars, and campus meal option costs for the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Participants pay a $55 annual, non-refundable participation fee with no interest charges. For further information or to sign up, go to http://tuitionpay.salliemae.com/UAlabama.
The Deferred Payment Plan - You may defer up to one-half of each semesters charges if at least one-half of the charges are paid when you confirm your schedule. The remaining balance may be deferred until approximately mid-semester for a $30 fee. This option will be offered on the web when you or designee accesses your account to confirm the schedule.

You guys must all be the parents of kids on scholarship because I see nothing wonderful or exciting about looking at that bill. Out of state tuition isn’t cheap that’s for sure. But we knew what we were getting into when we applied and neither my son nor me would have him go anywhere else.

Thank God for PLUS loans and Roll Tide:-)

Paying the bill makes it real! Less than three weeks left then he’ll be Rolling Tide on his own :)

well - with 28,000 of his new friends.

I’m with you NJBama. The salliemae payment system said deadline was July 5th. Has anyone tried it since??? Sounds like a good deal being interest free and only $55 charge. Well worth it…

I’m confused. I haven’t made my schedule yet because I’m going to Final Session Orientation, so I can’t confirm my schedule, right?

Krazie: You are correct. You cannot confirm a schedule unless you have one. Call Student Receivables and ask what you need to do.
