@bookmom7 Thank you for the heads’ up. Psywar jr. just got admitted as a “Chemical Engineering major in the Cockrell School of Engineering” for fall of 2016.
non auto admit daughter got accepted today into Social Work!
@aspiringsenior05 - application was submitted 10/11 late. I believe auto-admit showed up the next day. Then it has been stable without the confirmation of major assigned until today.
Good Luck to you!
MAJORS HAVE BEEN RELEASED FOR A MAJORITY OF THE LIBERAL ARTS AND MCCOMBS COLLEGES, WITH SOME NATURAL SCIENCES!!! EVERYONE CHECK!!!
@wardroger000 Looking at your previous threads, you applied to neuroscience. Congratulations! Where are getting your information that a majority of McCombs has been released?
I just got accepted to AerospaceE, non auto
Congratulations to all that got admitted! Is it possible that they are still going through people? Because I haven’t received a decision yet
Also, how do they inform you of their decision? Is it just through the mystatus portal?
Son who is a review applicant (not auto-admit) was accepted into College of Liberal Arts as a history major, his first choice major.
OOS admitted to McCombs, waiting on BHP
OOS here…still showing ‘in review’. So, are the decisions out and rolling in now?
@USAStudent06 yes, my son was notified via his myststus portal…
Son got into Electrical engineering yesterday! Hook’em horns!
Congratulations to all that got in!
Is it basically decisions are rolling in between now and March? Son applied to Cockrel school of engineering. We are oos. Congrats to those accepted early!
My older son who is a Sophomore in McCombs did not hear until Feb. Most kids will hear back in Feb. But some acceptances start rolling in from now on. I have no idea what criteria they use to decide whom to process first.
As a review applicant (not auto-admit) my son would normally had not been notified of acceptance until Feb. However, he applied for Liberal Arts Honors. When we attended the LAH info session, we were told that applicants who applied before the LAH priority deadline would be notified of admission prior to winter break and sometimes LAH will contact admissions to let them know that LAH is interested in an applicant. The Be a Longhorn twitter account also stated that if the applicant applied for honors, then there was a chance that they will get a decision back earlier than February. I assume that’s why my son received his admission acceptance yesterday, which is a nice surprise as we were still anticipating getting notification next year. UT is the top public school on his college wish list. If he attends UT, he will be a third generation Longhorn in our family, his grandfather is an alum as well as my wife and I. Hook’em Horns!
Cockrell Petroleum Engineering. Best Day Ever!
Congratulations to everyone that’s heard so far. What an awesome time we are in now!! Could those who found out thru MyStatus tell us where, what page, on this site did it announce the acceptance?? First page Dashboard? Admissions tab? Other?
@TXDad56 - on the My Status Admissions tab- it was updated from ‘we’re not sure about your major’ to Welcome to the class of 2020…with the college of acceptance.
Can you please let us know ur Stats…I am also interested to apply for PetE next year. Thanks
