Fay

He's in Landis. The chiefs is a huge commitment and I think he's kind of happy he was cut. He would have had to change his class to accommodate practice...now he can keep the classes he wanted and get a part time job.

So I dealt with 14 inches of rain at home, drove up late Fri through MORE FAY, and have been here through MORE FAY. It's rained 7 inches since I arrived. But the campus only has a few wet areas, (parking around the stadium.) One huge 100-150 yo tree went down on campus, but landed in an open area. There were quite a few large pines down along 90/Mahan, and areas of power out in east Tally and near 1-10. No flooding that I saw near the University or along Tennesee or Appalachee.

Cute rain boots are in here for the girls. Finally, a sensible fad!!!

This AM there are still some outer bands coming through with short downpours, but the tornado warnings that lasted all of Sat and caused postponement of many activites are finally over.

The wind was quite strong, and the driving rain was blown against buildings in such a way that D said some kids discovered some window leaks, but they were having the kids notify/submit work orders so I am sure they were be getting things fixed.

Off to convocation later. Then the drive home.

Please let us know about Convocation.... ;)

D2 drove up yesterday and we diverted her to another route I-10/I-75 after hearing that some areas received up to 20" of rain.

That's a (once in) 500-year rainfall amount. Amazing.
