"Financial Aid Application and federal income and tax returns" DUE JAN 1?????

i sure hope so--i'm in the same boat. i feel like an idiot for not seeing that deadline

^^my first post. yay.

thank God my dad sent it weeks ago.

Is Cornell the only school that ask for those pesky forms? Aside from a FA form for Penn (no tax returns needed) and Swarthmore (asked to send when 05 taxes are available), it seems like no other school wants anything other than CSS and FAFSA!

worldshopper, i live with both parents (they are married)

Probably doesn't matter which parent signs it then.

what the hell? i thought all undergrad freshmen apps deadlines were extended till the 10th?

haha im like a savior of sorts now

who wouldve known

i couldve just gone "darn, shouldve sent this already, ill send it today" and ended it there, but i came online and spread my mishap to the masses, in case anyone else made the same mistake, and low and behold!!!!!

ill accept any gifts and donations - pm me for the mailing address ;)

I confirmed it so I get 90% of your said gifts. ;) =)

you get a virtual pat on the back

What about faxing the papers to the financial aid office tomorrow? Just attach a note saying you wanted to make sure the forms would get sent in on time or something like that. Don't forget to add that you're still going to mail them, though. Does that sound like a good idea???

Why were they extended? That sounds familiar, though. Then again, I might just be thinking of another school. Everyone's deadlines just get jumbled in together...

I don't you guys should worry about missing the financial aid application deadline. It is not like they will run out of money or something. Even if they get your applications on time, they won't have enough time to look at all of them at once.

Cornell's financial aid application is really fast to do. It's nothing like Princeton's, which is pretty long. Nonetheless, I managed to send it in yesterday.

I'm confused...I just found this out as well. Let me clear up what forms I have to submit Monday, since post offices aren't open tomorrow.

I have to print and fill out the "Cornell Freshman Financial Aid Application" and attach to it mine and my parents Income Tax Return forms.

Is that all?

@parikhs: Yeah, that's all I see that they require.

[quote="First-Year Students (2006 Application Materials)"]Attention: The deadline for submitting your freshman application has been extended to January 7, 2006 (must be postmarked by that date). Alternatively, you may apply online until January 7, 2006.

Hm... if the deadline for the application itself was pushed back, would that include the financial aid deadline?

[Not to be pushy or anything, but I'm looking for a definite and solid answer, not a "maybe" or "probably"]

Thanks in advanced! =]

WHOA! The deadline is pushed back to January7th!!!!!!!! WOOT! I don't have to cram my essay in now weeee! Thank God!

Praise the Lord!

I wonder if they'll give priority to the people who submit January 1st though... anyway, I still need an answer as to whether the financial aid application deadline is pushed back as well... they did say that the deadline was firm, which gives mixed messages.

hmmm...now you're just making me nervous...I'll try to get it done by tomorrow anyway.

lol it's better to be safe than sorry.

ok, what's now due january 7? and where are you getting this from?
